Daystar 1.5" coil spacer lift kit?

has anyone used a daystar coil spacer lift on their 4runner? are they any good? im looking to get a temporary 1.5" coil spacer lift for mine to stop the little bit of rubbing i have with my 98 running 265/75 duratracs and i wanted to get peoples opinion since its only $150 for a full kit including bump stops. do you think i'll need bigger shocks since its only 1.5"? any before and after pictures would be much appreciated as well, Thanks!

sorry if i am thread jacking but i have a 2wd runner and i want to buy the daystar 1.5 spacer lift too and my runner will never see a day off road except for some dirt roads but i just want to know if anyone has ever had any problems with the daystar 1.5 lift kit? and how long have you guys had the kit? Again sorry for thread jacking, i hope this will help answers some of your questions too. TIA

Honestly I would save your money and buy a good set of lift coils. I have read a lot of stories of folks starting with the spacers, and within months hating them and purchasing lift coils, which is a bummer because you have to do the work twice plus pay for 2 alignments and end up with a set of 150.00 paper weights.

Or I could be wrong and you will be completely happy with the spacers. I just hate going back and doing the same job with different parts the 2nd time....seems to be the story of my life lately with various vehicles

To eliminate the minor rub from 265/75's, I'd much rather do a little bit of inner wheel well trimming or hammering rather than lift with spacers. The cost will add up since you'd also have to get an alignment after the spacers. The one advantage is you'll gain a bit of ground clearance but it's your decision whether the stiffer ride and reduced off road traction and wheel travel is worth it.

I have the 2.5" Daystar spacer lift and I have been very happy with it - economical and Zero problems. The kit helped give me the clearance to run Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs in the 285/75/16 size. See my build thread for more details.

I have a 2.5inchs daystar lift and it's been there for 3 years now and Zero problemarty:... It clear my 285/75r16 with a bit of trimming of my sr5 front fender flair.
But it do nothing for my sagging rear....:crybaby:

what else do you need to install the 2.5 lift beside the spacer lift.


I am only doing the 1.5 lift just because i want to get rid of my rear sag and i want to run my 05 tundra wheels with 265/65/r17 tires.


This is only going to be a daily driven car, it will never see a day off road

I will change my rear coil spring for something (heavy duty because a have about 150 pounds of stuff in the trunk...( amp and sub, recovery gear,.....):whipping2

update, i just finish installing my 99 tall springs and they did fix my rear sag but who knows for how long. I still wanna hear what other people with 1.5 daystar spacer kit have to say so any feed back would be great. TIA

A spacer kit is cheap...and that's about all you can say on that.

I've got King struts up front and a spacer w/OME shocks in the back. The front rides and performs great, the rear feels like my old F250 on leaf springs by comparison. I'll be changing out to Toytec springs and King resi shocks in the back.

I'm Running a 1.5 daystar in the rear and really enjoying it, rides great. I'd rather have cash in my pocket, 29.99 well spent for ground clearance. I put mine through the test when flexing and had no problem with the daystar coming out.

When I first got my truck. Owner had daystar spacers. And it had 285/75/16 and it was good.
