Daystar 2.5/1.5 and Tires

Noob. Please don't flame. I just wanted to take a poll of you guys that have the DS 2.5/1.5 installed.

What tires are you running?

If you want agressive and cheaper, check the Kelly's in my signature. Made by Goodyear, great in rain and dry, and my wife didn't even notice road noise with them!
 
Im running GY Silent Armors. I chose the rather non-standard size of 255/75r17 b/c I wanted a taller tire (32" v 30" stock) without a whole lotta rubbing. I like the tire a lot; its fairly quiet and smooth on road and has handled a variety of road and off road conditions well. It doesn't look pizza cutter at all and because the tread is narrower than say, a 285 size tire, gas mileage didn't take much of a hit either. The cost was also very good. Not a bad size tire to think about IMHO.

I'm running these right now and they're definitely a beast in the snow. I just wish the sidewall looked a little more aggressive.

do you have any rubbing with those tires? my tires are about 31 (265/70/17) inches, and looks like i could have room for another inch, but it does look a little close.

to OP,

running the kellys with 265/70/17, no issues at all with the ds lift. mpg has not changed that much,

Almost. That's why I went with the 255/75R17's, for that extra four tenths of an inch. :D

I'm running the GY Silent Armors. No complaints so far. Ride well. Good traction in snow and slush. Ran well off road. Would definitely buy em again.

265/70/17 Firestone Destination A/T's, no rubbing at all.

LOVE these tires, they are literally quieter than the all seasons that were on the 4Runner when I bought it (Yokohama Geolander H/Ts) and from my experience so far they grip great! On Tirerack.com they have the second highest user rating:

Also, they're about the lightest A/T available in that size so they'll have the least affect on MPG (I haven't really noticed any decrease). Finally, they look sweet! Online you can't tell how good they look, pictures don't do justice either, just go look at them. Finally, they're the cheapest tire I could find, had all 4 installed for $690 OTD.
