Daystar 2.5" vs. Toytec 3"

I know they are 2 very different lifts and are probably not to comparable. The only reason why i choose between those two are because as i posted in other thread, didnt want to thread jack.

Fast Facts for my 4runner to help reason which to go with:
97 4runner
2wd
just looking for the look with lift and tires. no bigger then 33s. might just stick with 265/75/16 BFG AT. iunno.
I do VERY LITTLE TO NO offroading why?
its 2wd, and i have a 400-500pound sound system in the back.
its sagging pretty obvious and ive had it in for a while. all stock suspension.
rear is probably about 1/4" to 1/2" lower then front
I know i gotta change shocks and stuff but im on a budget and trying to workeverything slowly. tires are starting to get bald so i figure lift and tires first then shocks later, while still maitaining my hobby of car audio.

so which do you guys recommend and why? are they any other companies i should consider? i know one thing leaning towards the daystar is that i dont have to compress springs as i would with the toytec and supposedly according to their site daystar said its easy straight forward install?

another thing to consider i dont want to put some cheap ass kit and have it sag and put me back in the same situation or **** me over down the road. thats the only reason why the toytec is up there. its proven and i trust it haha

If you have that much weight in the back you should stay away from a spacer type of lift. I would say if you have 400-500#'s in the back to get heavy duty OME springs for the rear coupled with their shock or not your choice. Plus if your already sagging the spacers will kill your ride.

Ah i would say no spacers in the rear on a crap suspension and if you have a shotty ride it really is both the shocks and springs. It all depends on how much you want to spend?

My OME 891s will handle 600 lbs. of extra weight, but you'll probably need to buy some 10mm trim packers (cheap) in addition just to retain the lift. You're gonna have to align it after a lift and if you wait on front shocks, you'll probably need to align it all over again because different brand shocks can change the ride height.

You could probably get away with just doing the Daystars in the front with your stock shocks for now and the 891s with stock shocks in the rear, get an alignment and run with that for a while. Then in the future, replace all 4 shocks and consider getting front coils at that time and align it again.

If you want to save the most $$ in the long run and do the best set-up from the get go, I would buy the complete OME suspension package for $699 from toytec, get it aligned and be done with it. Trust me, this is really the best option for the $$. Toytec will also pre-assemble the front coil/strut assembly for $100 extra and is well worth it IMO because compressing the springs is a PITA.

ok so i kinda answered this in a different thread but i figured id 2nd the opinion on not getting the spacers but ur already sagging... u should def get the OME 3" lift kit for 700. I tried to get out cheap but ended up doing this and love the look and just remember u wont have as many probs bc its new. Good luck, check my sig to see pics of a 4runner with the OME lift.
