Daystar Budget Boost?

Ok I'm pulling the trigger on a lift. I don't need to go big, just want to take the rake out. I have read this forum up and down and just need some straight answers....

Budget boost (daystar) 1" front lift provides how much actual lift?

Will it make the truck level?

Will the 2.5 lift make it nose high if I don't do a small spacer in the back?


Please help me put this to rest so I can get this done already. The rake is starting to drive me NUTS! Plus I just popped a tire and I want to slap some bigger BF's on. THANKS!!!!

I would suggest getting the FJC suspension with this DS budget boost spacer. It is a perfect lift and will not make it nose high. Also get you a nice set of A/T or M/T tires and it will look very nice. It will get rid of most of the rake and give you that lifted look.
 
let me ask you guys this, does this leveling lift in the front decrease MPG any? That's my first concern by doing this... to be honest, the rake doesn't bother me too much... but if it doesn't hurt MPG then I may consider because it does look a little better without the rake. Also, what's up with so many ppl using FJC shocks/springs, whatever... does this lift the 4runner any? Would that hurt MPG too?

No adding that spacer won't decrease your MPG's. The major thing that would affect your MPG would be getting bigger tires and more aggressive tires. Tons of people use the FJC suspension because you can find them for a decent price and it is an upgrade plus it is a direct swap to the 4runner. The FJC swap should not affect your gas mileage either.

okay so for a v6 sport 4x4, the FJC 4x4 springs would be a good upgrade? what about shocks? Are you using both the shocks and the springs from the FCJ or just the springs? Would you need a 1/4" spring spacer (or whatever) on the front to help 'level' it out with the FJC suspension? if it won't hurt MPG AT ALL, then i may consider it to reduce the rake and improve the 4runner suspension/ride.

Yes they would be an upgrade. You have the choice of the FJC Bilstein shocks or the FJC Tokico shocks. You can get one of those FJC suspensions and then get a leveling spacer from the front and it will reduce the rake and also make your 4runner ride better.

As said, it won't hurt the gas mileage at all. Tire size would be the only thing that would hurt your mileage. What you need depends on if you want to lift or just level. To level, use the FJ springs and 1/4" thick spacer. If you want to lift, use the FJ springs and Daystar budget boost for the front, Daystar 1.5" in the rear. Expect around 1" of lift in the front and 1/4" rear from just the FJ springs.
 
Well, I did the Daystar 1" leveling kit this weekend and I love the way the truck looks now. A much needed improvement and the ride seems to be a little stiffer up front. I was next to a stock 4runner on the highway yesterday and it looked completely different. With the lift I got a little less the 2" in front and it leveled her out pretty good. Rough numbers on the front from the ground to the wheel well is a little over 35" and the rear is a little less than 36". With the front level it looks much more aggressive. I had a shop install it for me for about $250 plus alignment. Now I'm looking to put on BFG All Terrain 265/70/17 this fall. I had BF's on my Wrangler for years and love the tires. Now I have to decide of white letters in or out......I'm leaning towards out.....I put pics in the lift and tire gallery if anybody wants to see my setup so far.

I see what you mean with it looking a little low in the back. Not sure if it really is or not. Anyway, it still looks better than it did at stock. I think I might do the same thing you did and stick a 1.5" spacer in the back. I saw your pics and my only concern is I don't want a lot a rake put back on the truck. Hence the reason I put on the front spacer to get rid of the rake. About how much rake did you put back on the truck after you put on the 1.5" rear spacer? Does it look like it did at stock, just lifted?

So I measured my truck today. With P265/65R17 tires, budget boost at the front and 1.5" spacer at the rear I'm at 13.75" to the bottom of the frame at the front and 14" to the frame at the rear. So the running boards are level. But the distance between the tire and the fenter is not. I really like the look and think it will look even better with some 70 series tires in the future.
 
I was just looking to buy the 1.5" rear spacer but I was not sure of the part #...

Which one is the correct one?

I ordered the front lift from 4wheel parts so I just want to make sure.
 
I just installed the 1.5" rear spacer today with the help of a friend and the truck looked perfect now. It took about 45 min for one side and about 5 min for the other. HA!. We only had to take the lower shock bolt off and then used the bottle jack to push the axle down. It worked perfect. Now the truck looks like it should have all along. I get some picks once I get it cleaned up. :reddance:
