thats the same as i got only mine is skyjacker, can be a pain to do the front struts but you just have to think about it and get info first. i really like mine. i got mine for $280 with 2 skyjacker nitro 8000 rear shocks too.

Any idea where i can get it for that price still? the vendor is asking me for $220 for the kit. and that well more than what you paid....
 
is it a fairly easy install?

and i just want a lifted look, i'll eventually get coilovers but right now my 4r is my daily driver and i dont wanna go too rough on it just yet. maybe when i get another DD i'll do a lot more to it.
 
the rear is simple, maybe 45 min on one side and 20 on the other. the front sucks big fat hairy bull b**ls. me and my dad gave up the first time and just put the back on. second try we did the front and it was easyer. just takes some insight and lil trick tips to do. takes prolly an hour then half the time on the other. if you do do it i can give you specific tips that will help for sure that i wish i had.
 
If I can be completely honest with you......don't do the spacer lift! I did the Toytec spacer in the front, and 890's in the back, when I first lifted my truck. Within a year, I was looking for something else to lift my truck! To top it off, I spent less on my 2nd lift, than I did on the Toytec lift! Toytec has some great products, but if you want the good stuff, it costs alot more.

That being said, I got myself some gently used Tundra struts and LC coils and threw them on my truck for less than the $400 - 500, I spent on the Toytec lift!

I can honestly say, you could easily lift your truck for around $500.00, and that would include:

- front Tundra struts ($80.00 each = $160.00)
- 2 Top plate spacers for struts ($60.00, Toytec)
- LC coils ($80.00 a pair, if your lucky, for free from a Landcruiser guy)
- Rear shocks (your choice, but easily bought for around $100.00 a pair)
- Diff Drop ($30.00, Toytec)

Shipping for these items would be extra, and would round you up to about $500.00 mark, give or take.

I'll tell you this much, it was the best money I ever spent, and I wish I would have just gone this route in the 1st place.

Listen to Fightman80, I followed his lead and did the following.
1.) Tundra TRD coils and shocks up front $100.00 (Junk yard) still excellent condition.
2.) Toytec's 3/4" top spacer. $60.00
3.) Diff drop. $30
4.) Rear springs OME $170 (local pick up from toytec.)
5.) Previously installed Rancho RS5000 shocks I think they were $150 or so.
Total $510.00
If you want something to match the daystar lift you're thinking of, get the Tundra TRD coils and shocks WITHOUT the top spacer, (but your choice) then get the 906 OME rear springs.

By the way, the Tundra/LC lift I got, ride 100% better than the spacer and 890 coils I had! CADILAC!
 
where did u get the tundra struts from? junkyard and does it matter what year? and would i be able to do the fronts than the rear or would that just cause sagging? probebly just do it all at the same time eh?
 
well honestly i would have done something different if i had found this first but i still think its worth it is you are just wanting a little. i still have mine on and dont plan on taking it off for quite some time.
 
With right hard ware could you do a spacer lift like this onto of a 3" suspension and 1" body?
 
I agree with the posts stating that you will want more as I already do. But for the money, and if you dont really off road, the DS kits are cheap and look great. Im not sure of the setup on the 3rd gen but the front on my 4th gen was a pain in the butt, took me and my dad, and about 4 friends drinking beer and "helping" us, about 3.5 hrs on the front. The rear took under 1hr.

I got mine from Nordstrom Automotive in North Dakota, from an ad on E-bay. I would simply do a search for the ones I bought, 2000 Tundra TRD 4X4 Access Cab. This way you know you're getting the same thing I got. When I got mine, there were tons of them for sale. You could ask around locally, at the wrecking yards though.

I would probably do both the front and the rear at the same time.

well the first time we tried the front with all the blood, sweat, and tears and 2 days we gave up and just did the back untill i got the 33's

You don't need the rear shocks...they don't fit. I'd just look for a set of Struts and coils for the Tundra like I mentionned previously. One thing you can do, call your local Toyota Stealership, have them do a part number search on the Coils and struts off a 2000 Tundra TRD 4X4 Access Cab, and then ask them to tell you all the trucks that utilize the same part numbers.

This way it will broaden your search. Good luck! :)
