DDM HID Fog light issue (9006)

Anyone else have trouble getting the 9006 bulbs into the fog light housing? It feels like it is JUST too big to the projector... any ideas?I tried forcing them, but I could only get 2 of the 3 plastic tabs to twist in and its kind of cock-eyed, but looks fine from the front. I'm worried about water getting in there.

Also, FWIW, another success story to date with DDM. Had them in my high beams for a while now and they're fantastic (55W 9005 in the stock housing) I did not put them in the lows yet because I don't want to blind anyone until I get my projectors.

Yes, it's a pain in the ass getting it in. What I did was push the bigger tab in first and wiggle it till the others go in. Take out the stock bulb and and look at exactly how it's in, then put the HID bulb in the same way. I thought I was going in the right way but until I held the bulbs side by side, I was a little off.

So you were eventually able to get them to fit? I messed with the damn thing for like half an hour and it just felt like it was rubbing against the projector.

So moral of the story, keep messed with it and it will eventually push in?

Yeah, as long as you received a 9006 bulb you should be good.

I had that issue when I bought them. Seems the bulb is too long/tall relative to the stock bulbs. Didn't want to mess with it so I just bought some PIAA whites.

Save your money and buy a better kit, the retrofitsource is 100x better than the ddm, theres never any issues on my end with theretrofitsource, ddm has provided me with wrong color on the bulbs many times. Those look like some 8000k , 6000k is a white with little blue.

I'm actually pretty happy with the kit itself. Mine are all 5000k and look very white. The fitment is the only issue.

I actually had to take the rubber o-ring off the HID bulb to get it to fit my fog housing. Would not go in at all with it. So far been good without it (several years) and never get water in it which has included deep crossings.

Was this on your 07? I think the housings are different.

Do you have the DDM kit? I don't believe there was a rubber ring on the bulb. I might just throw a bunch of silicone around it if I can't make it fit.

When in doubt, use electrical tape haha

No tape or silly-cone necessary! I got them to fit. I took off the O ring and then teplced with with the stock O ring from the original bulbs. Fit like a charm!!

installing mine now and swapping the oring out from the stock bulb was the ticket. The DDM 9006 bulbs have an oring twice the size of the stock bulb and it wont fit out of the box.

it also fits in fine with no oring but i decided to dig out the old bulbs and put the thin ring in for peace of mind
