Dead Cigarette Lighter

Driving 12 hours on the road and heading back to Austin and the cigarette lighter port no longer works to juice up my cellphone and GPS (the power port in the rear cargo area works fine though). I checked the fuses and everything looks good. Anybody have any thoughts to fix this? As always, thanks for the help :)

both front outlets are dead? My 99 has a couple up front I am pretty sure.

Which vehicle are we discussing? fuse?

the 99+ have 2 outlets and a cig lighter/outlet (up front), the 96 - 98's only have a cig lighter/outlet

x2 on checking the wire behind the console, this link will show you how to remove the front of the console

If you find there is voltage to socket, but things don't work, there is a fusible link built into the socket that will burn out on major overload. It is connected between the hot connector and the inside connector on the socket. It sort of goes around two sides of the end of the socket. Somewhere there is a thread with pictures on how to fix this, or you can buy a new socket or find a used one.

Odds are it's just a loose wire--this is just FYI.
