Dead trailer plug 2004 - where's unit?

I have a 4wd 2004 4runner with dead trailer plug, if someone could help me find the (&*^# converter and maybe some tips on how to get to it without a sawzall, I'd be ever so appreciative.

Maybe someone has pics posted on a website somewhere....?

I have a replacement from U-haul and plan to splice it in.

Any comments to this newbie has my thanks in advance.

Trailer light fuse(s) ok? IIRC the plug has it's own relay or fuses in the underhood fuse block.

Thanks for the post, I checked the manual for where a fuse might be - don't see where one is listed.

checked under the hood in 2 different fuse blocks, but they use the square fuses; they look OK but I don't have a checker for those.

Any ideas on how to check those? they don't look blown...

and no, I'm not sure I'm even looking at the right fuses.

This 40 amp fuse is for the trailer lights. To answer your original question: The relay is behind the plastic that covers the rear wheel fender (inside the car) on the drivers' side.

Thanks Chris! Pictures are good for the impaired like me - I'm going to replace the fuse just fork S&G (defecations and hilarity) and see is that fixes it; I'm not real enthused about removing all the plastic - are the screws under the carpet d'you think?

How involved is it getting to the relay...?
