Has any one every heard of getting the dealership to install leather seats. I finally agreed on a price for my 11 SR5 the dealership said the would add the leather seats. I am nervous now to see how the seats will come out. i hope i didnt make a bad decison.

I guess it depends on the details of what the dealer is having installed.

I get aftermarket leather installed on monday and they are using a quality supplier (Katzkin) so im am expecting something at least as good as the OEM leather. I was personally not impressed with the OEM leather so I think this may have been a better route for me. We will see on monday for sure!

On the showroom floor they had a new van with aftermarket leather, not exactly what I am getting, but I was very impressed. You would not have been able to tell it was not OEM and it felt nice and soft.

Thanks for the input I am not sure of the brand leather. The dealer said the installer had to order them so they won't be installed untill next Fri. just never really heard of people getting this done so i was a lil nervous about this

If you do a search a number of people on here have had them installed. As long as they use quality leather, quality assembled, and quality installed you should be fine. Did you opt to have them heated? The only thing that I do not like about going 'aftermarket' is that IF you have them heated it is only an on/off option, so if it gets too hot you have to turn them off, then back on when it gets too cool. The factory ones have a scroll switch allowing you to pick the perfect temp, and keep it there.

I hadn't really considered it either until i settled on a TE that cannot be had with OEM leather/heated seats.

I did a bit of research, here on the forum, and it seems like there are only a couple suppliers of these kits out there Katzkin and CST are the big players it seems. I think you will like the results judging by people on this forum that have gotten leather installed.

I was not able to see any of the guys work it was kind of late when i bought the t4r i did get it in writing that they had to do a job to my satisfiction
