Dealer oil change and now oil is pouring out from the 4runner

If they don't install your o-rings incorrectly and cause a leak, odds are they didn't change the filter at all.

I've watched [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] DIY post. It looks like it takes a little while but doesn't look all that hard. I've always done my own oil changes for the last 20 years. I haven't done mine yet myself but you guys are making me think I should and not trust the dealer and the free oil changes. My 4th gens 4runner and Camry have me spoiled, both have spin on filters reached from the top. I'm thinking I shouldn't have a problem...just carelessness by the dealer causes the problems. You agree?

Be the O-ring on the oil filter assembly isn't in the groove.

Way to many excuses for half arsed work by folks that are supposed to "certified professionals". I did my first oil change at 5k. Never seen the set up before. Bought the tool, read Antmans article and had at it. Only issue I had was the parts department have me the wrong filter ( my bad for not checking parts numbers) so I had to go back and get the correct one. Other then that, no issue. Now I'm up for the 10k service and wondering if I should just do the hard pass.

I do my own oil changes so I know it is done right.

Gettel Toyota of Lakewood in Bradenton, FL. Didn't put in the oil filter and only tightened one lug nut per wheel during a tire rotation. Never going back there again.
