Buying a new 4Runner soon and wanted to find out if anyone went with an extended warranty or pre-paid service plan? What did your dealership offer?

You are buying a Toyota, no need for any of that stuff. Funny how the salespeople tell you how reliable these rigs are and then try to sell an extended warranty. Which is it?

Regarding service, have a look at the service schedule. Mostly oil changes which can be done in the driveway. Many great posts on here on how to service it yourself.

Up in the stickies is a "....how to search...."

If you'll use that, and search "extended warranty", you'll find every answer to every possible question.

Or, it's an insurance policy - you decide.

I've had a number of 4Runners, beginning with my first in 1994. My wife and two daughters each currently drive 4Runners (I'm in a Tundra).

Maintain em. Buy a warranty for your [fill in your favorite here - Jeep, Dodge, Chevy, etc] and you'll be fine with the 4Runner.

A year and a half into my 4Runner and not one single issue.
2x Tacomas and an FJ Cruiser later, no extended warranties.
