Dealer trying to tell me HG isn't leaking

Dealer that sold me a 2006 4runner w/ 140k is trying to tell me this isn't a head gasket leak.

Can "stop leak" hide a leak well enough that if the system is pressure tested it, it won't show up?

I'm extremely suspicious of them claiming their isn't a problem.

I visited my mechanic last week with a CEL and he flat out said it absolutely was an HG problem and I called him back and he said he was not as certain and that it was just likely. Last week he was absolutely certain.

I'm not sure what my next step is here. If its a problem, I need to escalate so that I can ensure its resolved. I was going to set it up as a "hunt, fish, camp" vehicle and I don't want to go adventuring in something that isn't reliable.

Where is that leaking from? You cant really see a leaking HG unless you open up the heads. Are you getting symptoms for a HG leak, like rough cold start, smoke in exhaust, waterfall sound behind dash, cylinder 6 misfire?
What is your CEL code.
Need more info

Take it back to the dealer, when did you buy it? Thats been like that awhile.


Seems like 2006 should be past the dreaded hg issue.

I am with phatcheeks...
Looks like water pump or radiator or hoses or thermostat housing... some kind of front end cooling system deal.

If your diy, wash it all off then pay attention to were it leaking from.
