debadge front and rear emblems 1997

have a 1997 with gold pakage emblems

want to remove all rear ones- understand floss and heat

but how do you remove the front grille toyota emblem and the
rear toyota emblem
to replace with chrome or paint

The front is held on by a screw. I had to remove my front grill by removing several little "ship anchor looking" like clips. Someone on yotatech has a few pics of how to do it. Before I unclipped the grill I went and bought some from the dealership incase I broke some. They are really cheap so.... With regards to the back mine didn't have anything holding it other than glue so the floss took care of it.

I second the floss method! I looped it around each letter one time and then pulled both ends that worked much better than trying to saw thru the tacky backing.

when you took of the 4runner badge was there holes in the license plate molding? thanks
