Debate!!...DRL's, Running broads, etc.

Just thought I'd start a friendly debate on a few things that I personally don't mind about 4runners but I've noticed alot of people don't like. So I'm just being curious, not trying to insult anyone are start a war here.

First off DRL's, I don't get what the fuss is all about, I understand wanting to be stealth at night but other that, what's the issue? I find them help as far as making other cars more visible in bad weather conditions.

Running boards, I like the look of them and love how they light up when I unlock the truck. I can see how they would be vulnerable when offroading but whats wrongs with them other than that? Or is it just looks thing?

If anyone has other similar topics to debate about feel free.

EDIT: I'm not sure what running "broads" would refer to but I did mean "boards" lol

I'll give you my two cents...

DRL. I disabled mine because I like to run the Silverstar Ultra's which have a short life compared to regular bulbs. If I were to run them all the time, the life would be cut even shorter, so I disabled them.

Running boards. Visually, I like the looks of them better without and they definitely get in the way if you wheel.

Running broads. I prefer speed walking broads. Seems to help the butt more.

I dont mind my DRL's on my 05 SE. I believe it does help with visibility to others. Last weekend I was wheelin' down a soft bottom dry wash with lots o dust from other trucks and someone came around a corner a bit fast and came to a sliding stop almost hitting me. As he passed he rolled down his window and said the only thing he saw was my DRL's thru all the dust.

Running boards, eh, not my forte. Those were my first mod to the truck as soon as I got home from the dealer.

Running broads, love'em. I'll even give the "works in progress" a honk or two just for making the effort.

I like DRL's for the extra visibility they give to other drivers, which hopefully might prevent one from running into me. (probably why most insurance companies give one a discount for having them)

Running Boards, I and the DW use them all the time to help climb into the front seats.

Running Broads, fun to watch as long as the DW isn't riding shotgun.

I don't mind the look of running boards, on a lifted truck with bigger tires, they start to look out of place though.

I removed my running boards for a bit of ground clearance, but mainly to avoid causing more damage if I get hung up off road.

Until I get sliders, I would much rather repair a rocker panel if I hit something as opposed to repairing two doors (if you hit a rock from underneath, or slide into a tree, your running board will be driven into your doors)

Hahahahaha..I had my mind somewhere else when I notice my miss spelt title lol but yes don't we all love the running broads, and nothing quite motivates them like a honk, or your buddy's hanging out the windows yelling ridiculous things lol

Thats a good point, I guess I don't wheel hard enough right now but if I were to I would get some stealthy sliders that would kind of be hidden by the running boards.
