i was debating to get a full brush guard for more protection..... the push bar i have is awesom i just think i want full light protection as well....the company i got mine from sells a full one for 149.99 on sale. and 50 to ship.... i asked them if the brackets were the same and am awaiting a reply but im 99% sure they are... should i go with this one? i know its not going to be bullet proof but it will give me more protection. thanks

Personally, I don't like full brush guards. I don't think they offer that much more protection than what you already have, but then again I dont' know what you're using it for... haha

I think the push bar you have looks great. I also had the dealer tell me that some of those full (and even some bull) bars interfere with airbag deployment when in a collision. So I'm hesitant. I rather hit an airbag and buff out some scratches than taste my dashboard.

My two cents:

I love the look of brush guards (but more so on the 3rd Gen than the 4th), and really liked my old Manik one.

That said, when i had a front end collision, the brush guard actually did more harm than good i think. the guard posts got shunted all the way back and caused the radiator to get pushed back into the engine, and the top of the guard caused the hood to get wrecked too.
The truck would likely have been wrecked anyhow, but the guard messed up certain parts that would otherwise have been salvagable (the hood, possibly the engine, one set of headlights, a fender).

I think at fender bender speeds a brush guard can prevent your bumper from getting wrecked, but at higher speeds it changes the focus of the impact forces.

stay with the push... brush guards do not look that good on 4th -my opinion-.... they look better on 3rds... plus hunter brush guards are crap i had one on my 3rd they are not designed like other companys they do not form do the body..

did you get one?

I am thinking of ordering one for my 03 2wd same color scheme as yours LOL

How easy is the installation? The seller seems reputable...

Will the brush guard cover my lighting at night?

i would get a full replacement bumper if you want actual protection no push bar, bull bar, or brush guard is going to provide any real protection. They are actually nicknamed damage multipliers. I would save up for a shrockworks front bumper if you really want to protect the front end from anything

i would want a schrockworks too but there is no point spending a grand for one since i pre run it just like tlegend.... i never ordered one but yea they cover the lights..... the one i have they stopped making. but i thin 200 shipped is a good price if u want it for looks and a place to mount lights.. the brackets on mine are the same as on the full brush guard only there are 2 extra on the full one then mine. its a pretty easy install. took me 45 minutes after i bought the correct bolts.... since mine was literally one of THE last ones they had it didnt come with any hahah. but anyways i like mine and know it wont do anything besides possibly make a collision worse but if in a little fender bender it will hold up and protect. its prettys sturdy too. and will hol up against a fence i rammed to open the gate hahah. and also brush is no problem. and i love the look.... i think a full brush guard would look good on ours tlegend because we have the tougher look with the cladding. i say go for it and if u dont like it u can always sell it to someone hahah. jsut my .02 though.

I got the full brush guard and love it. Peeps say my rig looks mean. I haven't got an accident nor hit a deer yet but i cannot wait 'til someone wants to go head-to-head with me. ;):

I think it looks nice...
When I had that long long waiting for my bull bar I had cancelled the order and was waiting for the refund but then the seller contacted me saying it was already on its way so didn't get the money back...but I was looking at the Steelcraft brushguard. But again I was soo happy when I saw the bull bar arrived...I am very satisfied with it..

will there be less lighting at night?

I just installed HIDS on mine and would hate to get glare from it at night?

thoughts?

I have the same lighting (light brightness) at night. The only glare i had was when it snows at night, but it looks cool.

you shouldnt really.... there are only tiny bars going in front of the lights. if anything more lighting when u use the pre drilled holes to mount aux lights :)

that looks sick at night.... no one would ever guess thats a 4runner at night if u had all your lights on ahha
