If you want to remove the old one without damaging the paint, (I'm going to be doing mine soon, my 95 still has flawless paint, if you don't believe me I'll post a pic) there is a rubber compound wheel that you attach to a drill and it breaks up the pin stripe, then you wax and buff where the stripe was a voila, no more faded stripe. Then if you wanted to, you could apply the new one.

Eraser wheel. Can be found at any auto body supply store. Usually for around $15. If someone can't find them let me know I sell them at work and can ship it to you. They work good for double sided tape as well!
 
BAD A__ :bravo: now should I plan on getting stripes 4 my 87 its never had em but is an SR5 and im thinking this would be cool!!!
