Here is what mine came with. Its about the size of a day planner with little sleeves in them. I use it for organizing my insuarance card, registration, toyota warranty info and maintenance book etc. It fits in that small cubby above the glove compartment, though it doesn't allow for the door to close.

Wow, that does look similar from the outside. I use that same compartment for that same info and believe the door won't close anyway. I wonder if that is something we can order. Does it have a part # anywhere?

I see your Zebra Telescopic and raise you a Brushed Aluminum Engraved Toyota Telescopic. : It doesn't collapse quite as far because of that black cushion thing, but it is still pretty cool. Yours is going in the mail today (I'm recycling the envelope you used). For everyone elses knowledge I bought it at Tustin Toyota for $4 each, but they are normally $5.99 each. The only other one they had in stock was blue.

Get ready for another super mini-mod. This one is for all the JBL system owners. I've had on my to do list for a while that the labels on my JBL speakers seem to be bubbling, but I wasn't sure if I should try to take off the top layer. I asked the stealer and they said it was normal and the only thing they could do is probably order a new speaker or something. I wasn't convinced so I put this mod on hold until I saw a picture in BerettaMarksman's thread that made me sure mine wasn't normal. Here are some before and after pealing off the clear coating over my JBL badges:

Xtreme Cargo Mat w/ DD Cargo

I finally sorted out my Xtreme Cargo Mat situation complement of Tustin Toyota exchanging it for the mat made to work with the Double Decker Cargo System. The logo wasn't as friendly to remove this time and I used some goo remover to get the gunk off. Then I was afraid because the remover isn't good for a lot of plastics, so I took it out and housed it off.......it holds surprisingly a lot of water.......granted it would slosh all over the place when driving. I previously discussed my wrong Xtreme Cargo Mat on Page 10 & 19.

BTW, don't take offense if you post, PM, or email me in the next 5 weeks and I don't respond. just finished reading this whole thread. took 2 hours to read it all... all can say is whoa. crazy ass mods i love it. i just finished doing the rear fog mod and i love it, now lux u got me thinking about a lot of other mods..ahha, not a bad thing though. im also im in the middle of putting amber strobes in for hazards.

Cool, I'm glad you liked it. I wondered how long it would take to read this whole thing. I bet it would take even longer if you follow all the links. I haven't had the time or money recently to do much to the runner, but I miss it, so I might try to figure out a couple mods I can do on a tiny budget.

Are you from Southern California? Just checking to see if I should add you to the SoCal list. We're 93 strong as of now!

Question about handle

I have a quick question about the handle part numbers shown above. I noticed that the part number comes up as "w/o sunroof" when I type it in at Partznet. Is there really a difference in the handles? My 'Runner has a sunroof, of course, which is why I'm asking. If there is a difference, does anyone know what the right part number is for models with sunroof? Pardon me if this is a totally retarded question, I just wanted to be sure before I sank the money (all twenty bucks of it!)

I wouldn't worry about it.........well actually I remember doing the same thing as you but I think it turned out to be a non-issue. I would just tell them when you place the order, to triple check, but I'm pretty sure it was nothing. One thing that a few people have mentioned (including me) but the handle itself comes with screws, so you don't have to order them. You can reference way back to when I talked about them, but I think I ended up using the longer of the screws for 'added' safety. I even made sure with someone that they wouldn't hit my sideairbags in there........Yes, I'm anal about details sometimes. And at the moment I am too lazy to go back and read what I wrote before. BTW, I like your avatar. And I saw in your sig that you are going to get NAV. Good choice......I still absolutely love my choice to find a runner w/ NAV. The system is great and reliable almost always. But I did find a few roads near my new work that aren't on there so It takes me way out of the way. Guess I have to look into getting that updated DVD.

Edit: I just noticed that at the moment we have 2003, 2004, & 2005 December 4ROTMs on the first page of the gallery. Just a random, pointless sidenote.

Thanks for the info! That's our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Annie, who I should probably add to my list of mods because she can't stay out of the cargo area - one smart dog to love the 'Runner as much as I do!!!

No, they don't pull off at all, once I added more tape as described in this thread.

They "tarnish" a little, but polish back up pretty easy. They also have some sharp edges that rub a little on the part of the handle that doesn't move. I think, if I were you, I would look into getting the OEM metal handles that are coming on the 2006 4runners. They could be too much money, but I sure would prefer the better "fit" of a one-piece handle. Mine feel slightly weird when you grab the handle.

Also, if you still want to go with the stick-on type, I'd probably try the other type......the non-JDM, non-JasonB type (good guy/seller, but I just don't love these handles). Maybe they'll fit a little better.

BTW, I couldn't ask for anything more looks wise out of these handle covers.

I'm trying to pick a day to sit down and put in a car-puter *hehe*...i'm just soooo lazy!
