Simply Blown Away- Luxury, you out did yourself over these last few years. I methodically read through this thread over the last couple weeks while at work and I must say, I feel like I know more about you, your life, and your taste in vehicles than any of my best friends back here at home. Wild to see you're progression with the vehicle (btw, still one of the most slammin' runners on the boards) and then into marriage? Yowza, good to hear though.

Your efforts in this thread are tremendous and it's gonna be a serious point of reference for a long time to come. I just recently got into the t4r forum and i'm stoaked to join the club. Hope things are well and keep us posted on things. Take care man.

Thanks for your kind gratitude. I'm actually leaving for the wedding TODAY!!! ....and of course I'm utilizing every inch of cargo area in the 4runner. Hopefully after the wedding & honeymoon I can get back into the 4runner a little bit.... but I'm pretty happy with where it is at.

I'll have to catch up on the forum also so I can see what I have missed, since I've been relatively inactive lately.

Wow. I just spent about an hour going through all the pages of this thread. Luxury, nice pictures and write ups, even after 3 years of ownership. You've given me some great ideas for my 2004 SR5. Thanks.

Carson Toyota looked into it and found some part that was like $20 but it was only like $2 for the blanks. I questioned it, saying that price they got was probably for the one in the center console, and Steve Ganz said I might me right, and is looking into it further. He was in SEMA last week, so I haven't gotten an update. I'll press him tomorrow so we can see if we need to ask jo to pic up a few.

Update: I did a little goggling and I think I found out that they might cost 250JPY = $2.37 US
This link has a link on the left that will take you to more pics of his interior. This guy added the same part # to his Toyota Noah. What is cool is there is another item that looks like a hook and one that looks like it would hold a pen! See the last couple pics I attached below. My interpretation of the part #s is:

Pen & Hook holder: 55539-37010-C0
Pen holder: 55539-52020-C0
Coin Holder: 55441-52040-C0

I'm a little skeptic if the "pen and hook" holder will fit. I found a closer up pic of it from this website and I am a little doubtful, but the other pen holder seems like it should work. It also looks like we might be able to get them in grey instead of black. Probably just a matter of varying the last two digits in the part #. This website is where the last pic comes from. [/QUOTE]

Just spent about 1.5 hours reading through this whole thread. I've gotta hand it to you, this is one amazing thread, very informative. I loved all the pictures you had. It's a very nice 4R!

I like the pen mod, cause storing a pen in the center console just isn't cutting it when you pile stuff on top of it.

Tire Help & Update

LUXURY UPDATE: Hey guys... it has been a really long time!! I've been MIA partly because of a new job, new house, and two new kids since the last time I posted. Wife has commandeered my 4runner because the double stroller doesn't fit in her Corolla and I can save mileage on my commute. Miss driving it every day.

MY 4RUNNER UPDATE:I still have the same 4Runner described in this thread and it now has 97,000 miles on it. Got in an accident this year and it took forever to get the taillights replaced because of the Tsunami. Wish the body shop could have just switched me to the stock LEDs from the later years.

TIRE HELP NEEDED: I REALLY need some advice from all you experts. I'm buying a new set up tires tomorrow because I've got a huge construction nail in one of them and the inside edge is looking pretty worn. I've been running the BFG AT T/A KO 265/70 R17 and have been pretty happy with them; however, I don't really go off pavement as much as I had hoped to, and without 4WD or time I don't plan to in the future. Got two snow trips planned for this year though and would love some good rain performance. Bought my last set at Costco and am happy with them; however, our local BigOTires is running a buy2 get2 special tomorrow so I am considering the Nitto Crosstek because it would come to $604 (normally $967) for 4 including the required purchase of an alignment and premium installation package. I am open to any suggestions on any tires though. I've done a little research on T4R.org and it sounds like the Michellin LTX (~$890 at Costco installed with $75off) is a good choice too. What about Goodyear Silent Armors? Leaning away from BFG AT KO again because of noise, intended use, and cost. Please help me decide. Thanks in advance.

DIFFERENT SIZE SPARE: I've got the original Dunlop 265/65 R17 spare on there so wish me luck making it to the tire shop... I read Thai's warning about that... so we'll see what happens.

EMBLEM SCREEN: BTW, to answer the emblem screen questions: none left, sorry. Actually mine doesn't even have the emblem right now because one of the tabs broke off. Probably because I took it on and off so many times when I was designing the emblem screen.

TIRE DECISION: I used the following thread to solicit help in making my decision ultimately on a set of Michelin LTX M/S2: Replacing BFG AT KO with what?

DIFFERENT SIZE SPARE UPDATE: I had no problems going approximately 3 miles with the different size spare. Max speed was about 45 mph.

BFG AT KO TREAD LIFE: I got 58k miles on them.
