Thx.....I'd have to agree. I've always thought there was something a little off about the rear that I just wasn't completely happy with. The debadging helped a lot, the chrome taillight trim made it unique, the hitch attachments and SURF Bumper helped a little, but it was these taillights that brought it all together.

Nope. I would like to see how they look with the trim, but they are stuck pretty strongly to the pink tails. Actually a local member is probably going to buy them off me if he can allocate funds. I like how the black blends nicely with the black, so I don't think I want to interupt that with the chrome trim. Here are a couple closeups:

Hmm, could've sworn I posted a thank you for the mesh along with a pic, but apparently not as I look back.

Anyway, I do appreciate the mesh, it turned out pretty good. Getting the screw out was a pain, but other than that, there wasn't much trouble. BTW, new taillights look great.

It has always bothered my girlfriend and I that when we get out of the car and need to get stuff out of the back doors we had to hit the unlock button first. So today, when there was a great song on the radio and I didn't want to get out of the car, I actually cracked the Manual to solve this problem. :nerd: Turned out to be really easy:

1. Get in
2. Shut the door
3. Put the key in
4. Stop to revel in how hard it has been so far
5. Turn the key to ACC or LOCK
6. Hold the rear of the door lock switch for 5 sec.
7. Release
8. Listen for the locks to activate back and forth automatically to confirm change
9. Be amazed and wish you could change more settings this easily[/list=1]The only tip I can really give is to not hold it down longer than 5 seconds. I first did this and it didn't work, so I tried a second time holding it closer to exactly 5 seconds and it totally worked. The way it works now is the door locks unlock when I moved the shifter into park. Not the safest setup, but it sure is convenient.

   I just did this trick and its work great! I cant believe I did not know this B4! what a PITA for over a year now having to go back and hitting the unlock switch to open the rear door and hatch!! I guess its pay if you read the manual!lol

Thanks for the high res up close pics. It really solidifies my choice of going with the black tails. These things can't get to my house fast enough!!!! errrr....:goinposta

Kenn, let me say that these suckers probably look even better on your 4runner since you are black all the way around......well at least soon you'll be when you replace your chrome grill with a black one. Ed asked the same question via PM:

Neither fit in there perfectly snug, but not really that bad at all IMO. The passenger side did take a little more giggling to get it in there and it has a bit more of a gap, but I'm not worried about it at all. I didn't file or dremel anything. Everytime I've walked up to my car these past two days I am blown away by how much I like them. Here is a pic of the passenger side so you can see that there really isn't much of a gap:

I agree!!

But I am biased. I am going for the all black look. When it gets warmer I am going to paint my Pro comp wheels black and maybe get the new grille. Your lights look good, I stare at mine when I approach or leave my runner. Those pink lights had to go. They look kinda femmy.

On page 20 of this thread I posted about the "failed mod" that I tried to salvage and find a location for this 4runner logo from my floor mats. Well, I found a location I now love.....and the velcro sticks very tight to this part of the 4runner. It even survived a full cargo loading this weekend.

Is that a first aid kit you got? Hmmm, interesting.... I thought I got one from Toyota when I bought the truck, but it didn't come with bandages or anything.

tkr128, your emergency kit looks pretty cool. I probably would have picked one up if I didn't already buy that battery/inverter thing that can be used for jump starting; but it looks like it has a lot more than just jumper cables.

Found the PERFECT pen...

It is the Zebra Telescopic in black and silver 3.5" closed..pulls out to a full length pen...can be used short or long

I think I figured you out.......you work for Zebra and designed this pen specifically for our 4runners! :lmao: When you said "PERFECT" and went ahead and sent it, I had no doubt that it would be awesome. Plus, the style of the last selection you sent me was right on. This cool little pen has a guard that goes over the pen tip when short. So basically, short=closed. Then you extend it, the guard automatically retracts, and it is ready to write. I think it is a little fat for my wallet, but I'm going to try to fit it anyway because I like it so much. Thanks again for hookin' me up. :bowdown:

Yours is going in the mail today (I'm recycling the envelope you used). For everyone elses knowledge I bought it at Tustin Toyota for $4 each, but they are normally $5.99 each. The only other one they had in stock was blue.
