Decided to buy a pro

18 trd off road

New member
Decided to traded in my 18 trd orp for a 2020 pro. I couldn't stand the rack so I had that taken off before I left the dealership and took all the badges off, installed my black trd skid plate and installed a cold air intake. Still waiting on new suspension to come in and install some new wheels

Not sure I understand - you wanted a Pro, but not the badging, roof rack, special color, wheels, or suspension. What was it about the Pro that made it worth the pricetag?

I got almost exactly what I paid for my 2018 with 30k that I bought new so I decided to trade

Why not just get a white 2020 ORP and change out the wheels, suspension, skid plate and badges? You’d have the same vehicle for a lot less money. Makes no sense.

Well the VIN will always be a PRO, and I don't know about Iowa, but here in Southern CA Pros go for a premium and hold their value like gold. The JBL system, exhaust, skid plate and remote start are also a positive for some on the Pros. Only thing that boggles me is why the OP would pull the badges that distinctly make it a Pro...but like I always say, to each their own. Your money, your choice, and I will always support it.

I will say this though since I also got a Pro with believing I wanted to keep it stock. Then the mod bug hit me and I went ape poop. Sometimes things just don't go as planned. ;)

lol buys a pro to replace an off-road, immediately replaces suspension which is the only differing factor.

good financial move!

Well maybe not immediately, he did grab lunch first... "Yeah, gimme the BLT. Hold the lettuce and tomato. And can I get turkey on that instead of the bacon? Thanks"

I’m all for people doing what they want with their vehicle. I doubt anyone, a dealer included, cares that it’s VIN comes up as a pro when it’s not the limited color, doesn’t have pro suspension (the only real difference between an ORP if it’s not a the limited color), has no badging, and is the most common color around. Personalizing a vehicle in any way immediately diminishes the pool of interested buyers. Changing everything that makes it $8,000-$10,000 more than a loaded ORP is definitely not going to help it hold value.

Geez! Leave the guy alone. It's his money...if he wants to spend it, more power to him!

By the way....it looks great! Congrats!!
