Good info on the low mileage vehicle. I am stil waiting to get some more info on that one.

What are your guys thoughts on a 2002 limited with a supercharger and 94k for $8300? Has had regular basic maintenance like brakes, oil fluids but has not yet has timing belt water pump or other larger items maintained.

Get the price down a little on it, low miles is good on a SC truck, that's when it is desirable. I would shoot for $7-$7500 if I were you a d everything else checks out.

$8300 is as low as he will go. Asking 9k I tried 7k and he said a dealer has offered him 8300 so he would sell to me for that. Looks good in photos. Need to go check it out

Show up with cash, I doubt a dealer would offer that much for it there is such a small profit margin at that price, tell him all the stuff it needs and how much that costs, it always helps to do it in person with cash.

You seem to know what you are doing but just in case I'd recommend that you use kbb.com private party valuations as a guideline and if you feel it is the deal you want then go for it. Good luck!

I do not think you can make any correlation between miles and rust. I have seen 4Runners rot out at 15 years old, they come into the scrapyard, and the frames are shot. All it takes is it being driven in snow storms which is about 2% of the time the vehicle is ever used, which would be around 4k miles on my trucks, and then having the truck sit and not be cleaned, and then they get wet again and the salt that is on there continues to eat the frame. I just bought a truck with 212k miles on it and the frame was mint because it came from a dry climate, but a few weeks ago on here a 2000 4Runner a guy had his 4runner deemed unsafe to drive because of rust damage with 100k miles on it.

Ok, Johnsd90, you're right. I guess low mileage is never an indicator of quality because of some trucks you've seen at the scrap yard and some other anecdotal evidence you've encountered on the internet.
