Deckplate Mod on 4th gen?

Has anyone done a deckplate mod on a 4th gen? I have read a lot about this on guys doing this on the 3rd gen 4runners and Tacomas but was wondering about the 4th gen 4runner. Also what are your thoughts about doing this......
