looking into getting either the 2 or 4 mount Defiant light bar. just wanted to get some feedback from other members whether its worth it or not. i really like the look of it compared to other options but $250 or so seems a little steep.

I have been trying to justify this for some time. I wish we could get a group buy, but the guy who makes them isnt going for it.

I like this bar over all others, bull bar, grill guard, etc... Its sleek, strong and functional.

I want one. Buy me it.

Bummer, I'd be down for a group buy.

Hey guys...So i just spoke with Jason Perkins (perkins performance - shop that made my roof rack) about the front light bar. He's willing to build something similiar for our 4th gens for under $200 if there is enough interest.

He'll have a 04 in the shop next week and an 08 the following week (mine) to develop them among other things.

Just thought i would throw it out there. PM me if you're interested.

Skip the lightforce, let's get some LED's in there. I'd be interested if you can get the size of the bar to be as compact as possible, yet, able to mount a set of 12" led bars.

Take a look at this site. Low Current 12 / 24 Volt Xtreme High Intensity LED Bar

I'm thinking the technology available today will benefit us.

We could benefit from

1. Drawing low power
2. Shallow LED bar thickness does not have to get in the way like larger flood lights do when opening and closing the hood
3. Discreet, not a target for thieves
4. Durable and well constructed.

Let me know what you think

If your buddy can replicate the one you had, you got my vote.

actually talking to him about making it a bit closer to the bumper since the biggest feedback that i've seen about the defiant is that it sticks out too much if you go with a slimmer light like piaas and hellas.

Could he bedline it? I wonder also how much it would weigh?

i don't see why he wouldn't. he also offers a matte black powdercoat with a little texture. once i take the old one off (next week) we can weigh the original then compare it to Jason's version when he builds it.

I would be interested too depending on final look and and final cost. Can't wait to see the pictures on your 08.

darkie, clear ur PM box. i'm interested in a light bar as well. put me down for one fitting an 03 if it pans out.

Yeah sorry about that. cleared out now.

Jason will have my truck all next week for test fitting so hopefully i'll have pics for both the 03-05 and 06-09 after that.

im interested in seeing the ones for the 03-05. i really don't want to commit to one until i can see some pics to get an idea of what i'd be getting.

I'm interested as well. Like others, I would like to see some pictures of what it may look like.

And about those LED's, I am all for LED technology, and I am a flashaholic when it comes to LED flashlights CandlePowerForums - Powered by vBulletin But I dont think that they would "throw" as far as a traditional driving lights (lightforce, PIAA, etc) They would flood like crazy though. I have a set of Lightforce Sriker 170's (non-HID) and I am pretty happy with them.
