I went down to the dealer Saturday to look at 4runners. They didn't have any on the lot but expected one last shipment of the 2024 model year to be delivered in October. I put a deposit on a TRD Off Road premium without seeing the option list that it would be equipped with. When I got the list of installed packages and options I got lucky. Everything I wanted was listed along with a few thing I didn't mind getting. The only things on it that I really didn't want were the Roof Rack Crossbars and the Yakima Cargo baskets. I assume that these are port added options. Is that correct? Is it possible for the dealer to cancel these before they get installed?

I think from what I have found when looking for a new 2024 4 Runner that port added options are added and the dealer doesn't have any control over what they add and don't add. From what I was told that they knew the color and if it had the Premium Option on the vehicle, that was about as far as they could tell me. I did purchase a new 2024 in January 2024 TRD Off Road, it had some four added port options added, one was the Black Wheels and All Terrain Tires which I wanted, full Weather rubber floor mats for the entire vehicle, which I wanted, and two other things that were added that you are just stuck with. I did want the rear sliding floor, but if it wasn't installed at the port install its not available to purchase as an accessory. I only found one option mine didn't have that I wanted, it is the Auto Headlight option and it only comes on the Limited model, you would think with the Premium option it would be standard, but it's not. I totally enjoy my new 4 Runner, glad I went with the 2024 Old School model over the new 2025 model. I feel you will be very happy with your new 4 Runner.
Thbanks for your response. I visited the dealer and they gave the impression that they could delete options if its early enough but said the ship was already in port and it was to late to change. I’ll just try to sell it when it arrives. At least its not something that can’t be easily un-installed without leaving holes.

I would keep these added accessories; they are very little to worry about and the next buyer may want them. Just be happy you were able to fine the model 4 Runner that you wanted, it looks like picking are getting slim these days and when there gone, there gone. I wanted the rear sliding cargo floor, but could not find one at the dealer I was wanting to buy from, and one could not be added as an accessory, I found I could live without it, no big deal today.
