dension icelink- '05 HU

Can the Dension Icelink work on the standard 2005 headunit? I don't see any buttons on there that indicate control of any kind of CD changer so I am concerned. I know how the IceLink plugs into the AUX port (usually reserved for the CD changer) but if my HU had the AUX port, shouldnt' there be any buttons for it?

if not will the scion hu work better?

p.s. if anybody has pictures of their icelink mounts, could you please post them? I wanna get some ideas on how i should do mine.

Just push your CD button a second time and it will change over to the aux input.

your install looks really good. I actually store my iPod in there while it's not pluged to my horribly working Monster FM modulator. However, how do you like it in there? My original intent was to mount my iPod so i can control it without picking it up. can you (or anybody else) give me some pros and cons on which way is better?

p.s. i was on the densionusa webpage and it doesnt list toyota as one of their compatible units. do i have to buy the older icelink?

The whole idea of my install was to keep it looking stock. I didn't like the idea of mounting it because when I take the iPod out I didn't want an ugly mount to remain. I also wanted to move my iPod as little as possible; meaning, I didn't want to have to take it off to store it out of site every time I had to get out of the truck.

For me, putting the iPod where it is is not a hassle. It's well within arm's reach, and I prefer to have the iPod in hand while navigating my playlists. It's a lot easier to read the screen when it is closer to me, especially when it's bright, than having to read it somewhere on the dash.

It's all a matter of preference really. If you don't want to hold the iPod, then a setup like mine would not be ideal for you. Dension sells vehicle specific mounts for their cradle. I believe there are three available mounts for the 4th gen 4Runner; two on the dash, one on the console.

As for the availability of the ICELink Plus, I am not sure why the Toyota link is not working. I would call Dension to find out what the deal is.
