Denso legit A/F sensor

I bought a pair of Denso O2 sensors from Amazon about a year ago. They were around $98 with tax and free shipping. They work perfectly and looked completely legit.:reddance:

I just went to advanced auto they had Denso listed for $171 and i used a 25% off coupon. Wish me luck getting the nuts off and clearing 0420 code.

Price jumped to $124.88 on Amazon, but still cheaper than those lousy chain auto parts stores. I bought one a month ago and it's legit.

I replaced both my sensors with Densos off Amazon....front at 80k, rear at 95k, and at 200k now, they both have lasted longer than the factory ones did.

Changed it out today one of the bolts was pretty corroded but vice grips did the trick. New bolts from dealer and anti seize. Code is cleared but wont know for sure for a week. Discovered master cylinder leaking so thats new. Not cheap fix from why I’ve read. At 186k and rust free i really want to keep this truck so we’ll see. Any input is appreciated.

Usually not. Depends on year, RWD/4WD, engine, 5spd/auto, and Cali/Fed emissions in '99-'00.

Thanks for the link. My Sons 01 2WD search reveals 2 downstream O2 sensors ( with different part numbers) and no upstream listed...what gives? I need to replace them.

One downstream is universal and the other is OE fitment. You want the OE fitment part number 234-4261.

Upstream you need an air/fuel sensor for 2001, not an O2 sensor. Downstream, you need the OE Style, unless you want to mess with soldering wires (not recommended).

Just a heads up, I bought two Denso A/F sensors off Amazon this past spring and when I went to install them one a month or so ago one was a dud right out of the box. Denso wouldn't warranty it because Amazon is not an approved distributor.

I have used Densoproducts.com ("we are not Denso") in the past: OE sensors run about $45-$50 for my '97.

It was past their return window by the time it became cool enough for me to bother installing them.

Just curious...how exactly did you determine that the sensor was at fault? Did a second sensor fix the problem?
