denso replacement fuel pumps

I've read conflicting info. that the Denso replacement fuel pumps for our 4runners are now made in China instead of japan. Has anyone bought a Denso pump recently and confirm for me the origin of manufacturer?

JUST received Friday and even took a pic complete with the blue box it came in, from Amazon- 96 4Runner 3.4, I got the one that came with the sock...

Old and new together for no particular reason:

Obviously I don't know the longevity...at least 1 day....

Considering the labor aspect of the job, installing a [minimum]18 year-old fuel pump just doesn't seem wise.

Thanks for all the replies. My pump is still working, but I have 230k on it, so just thinking ahead. I went ahead ordered the denso from Amazon.

I'm curious about the pump, what signs did you get that determined you needed to replace it?

I have noticed mine it is gradually taking a few more cranks to fire since I bought it. but when it starts, it idles and runs just fine, both cold and warm.

at first it was maybe 1 second of cranking, now its about doubled. and I was thinking maybe its the pump, or is there a check valve in the system?

If the engine runs good but the start is getting longer then most likely check valve .

I know some have installed check valves in the fuel line so as to not do the PITA tank drop pump replacing . also on the cheap..

230K I would do the pump change that is about the max life with good care ..

If you travel out into the boondocks with any frequency, replacing the pump at around 200K miles or 20 years is not a terrible idea.
