go get a quote from local body shops(quotes are free) to fix and repair it and then also to replace it all. See what fits your budget the best, and who you feel most comfortable with, then make a move based off your findings.

I don't know how bad your dent and scratch is. Normally you replace the whole bumper. At my work we have a 2006 Trailblazer and we had the rear bumper repaired. They mended a small tear and it looks pretty good, meaning I can't see where they repaired it.

You may want to give them a call or go by and see them. They are just south of Concord Road on South Cobb Drive. (I see your in Marietta, so just a short drive.) I suspect you want to fix this without getting the insurance company in on this. That is what we did. I forget the cost, but it was much cheaper than getting a new bumper. Also, if it is too big a problem they will let you know. We do a lot of work with them, well not a lot, but our workers tend to have small scrapes every now and then. :(

There is a place in alpharetta that is amazing at body work. When my bmw got hit, they fixed it up really nicely and can't tell anything ever happened. They also detail the car right after. Let me know if you are interested in the place and i can let you know. I don't work there or know anyone that does, just passing a long a good review.

Some knob bumped you when you were parked somewhere? Unfortunately, I see this happen about twice a year in mall lots - and when I do, I get the offender's plate# and leave a note on the victim's vehicle with my phone # as a witness. The offender is usually someone who doesn't know how to back up properly - they back up too fast and don't even turn their head around to reverse, the lazy f**ks. They probably dump their ashtrays anywhere they like as well.

Hope you get a good quote and work done. Welcome to the forum!

Mine is the '03 unpainted bumper. Somebody backed up and there was a 3 inch diameter, half inch deep dent.

Don't have tools since I was in a vacation cabin, I just pour boiling..very, very hot water straight from the keetle and the dent no more!

It just popped up!

Awesome!

In a roundabout way this is how body shops repair bumper covers. They take off the cover, apply heat to the back of it and a lot of times a minor dent will just pop out. Many bumper covers are made out of polyurethane, which is a type of flexible plastic, making this type of repair a snap!

I would just go talk to a body shop that you know/trust and ask them if they can repair it. Bumper covers are generally more repairable than people realize and from the description of the damage a good body shop should be able to repair this for you.

Good luck!
