Dent on the rear hatch

I am new to the Forum and looking for some help. My 97 4runner collided with a mailbox (insert wife joke - yes, she was driving) and has a dent on the rear hatch. I believe I can pound it out if I can get to it from the inside. I have no idea how to remove the inner panel, any ideas? Thank you.

Removing it isn't too hard. It's easier if you roll the rear window down..You're going to pop of the plastic piece that is covering the pull handle. The rest is held it by those plastic pop in tabs. I took a little flat head screwrdriver and popped them and I was able to (gently) pull the rest out.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the fourm!
