Denver area 4-18

Meet at the Downieville Conoco in Dumont, CO Exit 235 at 10AM if you want to go. This gas station also has a Subway in it. From there we are going on to Empire and then south to Lincoln Mountain. I believe there will be a closed gate for the Lincoln peak and if it is then we will go on further up Bard Creek and see if we can get on to the Democrat peak. If we still feel like exploring after that we can head north of Empire and see how far we can get up the Bill Moore & Mill Creek trails. It's very likely that we will not make it far on either trail so like any wheeling trip bring snow clothing and recovery gear. This will be a good opportunity for folks to practice snow recoveries. I'll happily volunteer to get stuck :bigok:

I was thinking about doing some snow bashing this weekend, but now I think work is going to have me loaded up on Sat.

I am not usually very motivated to work on the weekends though, so who knows...

So where's the snow in Denver this morning??

What happened to 10 to 20 inches? I imagine it still snowed in the hills though...

The snow is just getting going in Denver but the dividing line of rain and snow is I-25. It's only been snowing about an hour down here in SW Littleton and we've already got 2" and very slick roads.

They are still saying about 6-12" in Denver but as you go south and west you should see real snow. Conifer was already nearing 10" earlier this morning.

Indeed. My brother who goes to Conifer High school got to school then they cancelled it after an hour of classes. Now he's stuck at school till they can get the buses back to pick them up.

Boulder hardly has an inch right now. Its more slush than snow honestly.
