Denver / Front range tech day???

This is a long shot, but I'll throw it out there anyway. There seems to be a few people in the front range. What do you guys think about a tech day? There are a couple things I would like to tackle, but don't want to attempt alone. A Scion radio instal comes to mind. Even differential oil, I've never done that one.

I do this from time to time with motorcycles, and it's a good time. Throw some food a grill, meet new people, and wrench for the afternoon. What do you guys think? Of course we can wait for warmer weather. I'm just planting the bug now....

I'm in. I don't have too much planned. I do have a wish list, but everything I want costs a bunch of money.

I wouldn't mind taking on heater mirrors...

I live in Golden, count me in. Nothing in mind for my 4runner, but I like the idea of helping out and learning some along the way.

Yeah I'm definitely down. Heated mirrors would be nice ($300 though?!?!) Also it would be nice to help remind myself where the lube spots are on the truck, and check out each others mods. That will probably lead to me spending more money. =D There's a few wiring mods (like fogs + brights), I wouldn't mind taking on.

I'm going to keep bumping this until it happens...
Who wants to plan it (not it!)

I suggest sometime this spring, everyone bringing a few bucks for the BBQ and brews. In the meantime, Post here where you are, so we can try to get a good central spot. We should also list our mods and car knowledge, so we know what general knowledge we have.

I can host, no worries there. Unless somebody is more centrally located. I'm on the Northeast side of Denver, Park Hill area.

Thanks for bumping the thread!

Come on Falls, make the road trip! You can check out my new Coopers!

I am not as centrally located as I am in Golden between Evergreen and Genesee (Chief Hosa exit). But I can offer garage space as I have a detached 3 car garage without much in it that we could use to work in. Just a thought as we contemplate the spring event.

I missed the PM sorry guys. I'm in. I have been busy moving and working. I have a great space for a BBQ, covered patio with an outdoor fireplace. Garage space is small, but should we decide to get together and BS and turn wrenches someother weekend I'm happy to host. I'm at Belleview and Broadway in Littleton.

As for knowledge, I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I don't have any huge mods on my plate. As mentioned previously I would love to do heated mirrors, but I'm going to keep her pretty stock. I had an 86 4 Runner back in the day that I went nuts with, this one is a daily driver and I'm happy with it so far. I would like to do the nav upgrade, but that is a ways off.

I have no mods in the workiung yet.... My tacoma is the offroading toy this one will be a driver. But I am still down to head into town eat som BBQ and learn while otehrs are working.

I have aspot in Vail... think that is out of the way for everyone else though.

Are you guys still plannnig to get together? I would be interested, and as an aside, I'm currently in the middle of a Scion HU retrofit in my '99. I plan a detailed write-up once I'm done.

Also, I wouldn't mind finding some local fellow Yotas to go wheelin' with.

Another local guy I know who is active on here and might be interested is RonMAIDEN. I'm pretty sure he lives real close to me.

CO_FlyFisher,

Have no fear, the get together is still on! The Scion HU is a project I would like to tackle too.

The HU upgrade would be a cakewalk for you compared to mine becasue you don't have to do any trimming. That's going to be by far the biggist pain in the butt part of the project for me.

It will make or break the project depnding on how it turns out, and it MUST meet with the wife's approval. So I'll be taking my time, and working very slow and careful. :yesyes:

Are you guys still planning on thise thing or am I just too late to the party? Hoping to pick up and 86 turbo this weekend, and would love to be able to stop by on the way to the springs for a BS session. Anyone?

SWEET! Count me in whenever it happens! Would love to learn more about the 4Runner, get some insight about fixin' 'em up! Where is everyone coming from? I'm out of Fort Collins so anything north is good for me, I don't know if anyone is coming out of Pueblo though, ideas where to meet? This is an awesome idea, if nothing else meet, greet other T4R owners, show off rigs. I'm new to the party (used to have a Ranger) but I say we can't let them show us up. One forum I used to frequent was meeting in Ouray in the fall with guys coming from both coasts! We can't be beaten by them!

I'm still up for this. I'll be out of town a few weeks this summer as I'm sure everyone else will be. Location depends on who's willing to "put up with" a butt-load of 4Runners in their driveway, street, culdesac etc...hahaha.....I don't think we'll have much issue with that!
