Alpharex has two projectors (high and low beams). These appear to be a blacked out factory style with halogen high and some sort of projector for low.

The appeal to these Depo headlights is the easy access to change bulbs. They appear to retain the factory side mounted bulb with the dust cover. I am not a fan of most aftermarket headlights simply because the bumper has to be removed every time you want to change a bulb.

I'm digging the OEM+ look to these. Tasteful compared to what's available on the aftermarket IMO. Definitely interested in seeing some LED light output photos.

DEPO is also known to be a reliable brand.

DEPO is pretty well known in some communities. They make a very popular low cost glass lens projector headlight upgrade for the E36 BMWs for example. The only real knock I heard against them in the BMW world is their plastics are a bit more brittle than higher quality (OEM) options and some people would have mounting tabs break off on them (on the E36 the turn signal housing "snaps" into the headlight...so the tabs are the only thing that hold them on).

Thanks for posting the video.

My thoughts on the Depos compared to the AlphaRex Pros that I am currently running.

Unless I missed it, it seems like the the LED “check marks” on the Depo’s do not have the sequential turn signal feature like the AlphaRex headlights. This feature is one of the main reasons I first went with the AlphaRex. I am also glad that I went with the PRO models so that I can replace the Hi or Lo’s if they ever to fail and go out. Like you said, It seems like on the Depo’s you can not replace the low beam and will need to send it back to the factory for replacement or service.

I do like that the Depo’s have an OEM look to them and the LED check mark does look way brighter in the day time compared to the AlphaRex PRO’s which in my opinion is a downfall along with having to take off the entire headlight assembly to adjust or replace the Hi and Lo’s (not sure if you have to do the same on the Depo’s. I didn’t look closely and maybe someone can answer this?).

Yes I agree. The AlphaRex DRL LED check marks are not even bright in the day time and that sucks.

Ultimately why I went with the Gen 2 Morimoto. I've seen some people around town running the Alpharex and man you couldn't even tell the DRL was on. Looks super cheap for a 700-1200 dollar headlight.

I got mine for around $450 back when they first had them released. Main reason I went with AlphaRex Pros is you can swap out the bulbs if they fail.

That's only with the pro model though right? And maybe the Luxx? I agree that's a nice feature but Morimoto has the 5 year warranty so hopefully if anything happens it'll be in that time frame and I can have them replaced.

Not sure about the other models but I got the PRO midnight version priced at $489 now. Well for me, Any headlight that I would need to ship back or wait for a replacement just because the bulbs fail is a no go. I sold my OEM factory headlight assemblies so I just cant do a swap. With the AlphaRex PROs, I can just get any H7 bulb from an autoparts store and get back to driving on the road at night again. Hard to drive at night if the headlights are out and waiting for replacements or a fix.
 
I have them on my truck for almost a year now and I can say they are fantastic. Beam pattern and light output is good and the drl strip is nice, no issues as of yet. For the price I'd say they are the best bang for your bucks.
