Derek G's 2007 Limited V8 build

Got my OME lift installed today. I went with the 886 springs in front with Bilstein 5100's and let me tell you, I am sooooooooo happy I did. I was torn between the 886 and 885 for ride quality but I think the 886's work perfectly with the ARB bumper alone, I haven't installed the winch yet either. (if your in the DFW metroplex and torn between the two PM me and take a ride).

Another thing I'm glad I did was check the CV joints after about 30 miles of driving. Sure enough, there was a leak on both sides where the inner most boot meets the axle shaft. Thanks to this forum, I was able to find a solution to this common problem when I posted this thread. 275/65/18 tires are in the next two weeks, I'm thinking Duratracs.

Next are sliders. Any recommendations for sliders that have steps?

On a side note, when I last posted on this build I had installed the ARB rack and the Rigid Industry lights which I was disappointed in. I have since installed a set of Lightforce lights in their place and I'm much happier with the results.

Also, if you plan on getting and using a roof rack, get the Gobi ladder. That thing is a ***** to pack without it.

hey just out of curiosity what is it like have that antenna on you bumper? does it distract you on long drives? and is there another reason from going firestik to the K40 or what just what they had? and last one have you hit any thing on it like trees and have it fling back?

No distraction at all, especially on the passenger side. I went with the firestik for a few reasons. One, it was easy to calibrate the radio with that antenna. Two, it doesn't require a spring mount. Three, it has the correct flexibility to absorb branches and obstacles while not swinging into the truck or bull bar. Four, it's very durable. An added bonus (especially when my wife is driving) is that the antenna height is about an inch or two higher than the roof rack, meaning that if you pull into something with low clearance such as a parking garage, if the antenna hits, you're not going to fit. Gives a little warning.

Safety mod I completed before my Thanksgiving trip to Colorado, rear fog light. Timely, on the trip out there and back we ran into more fog and heavy snow than we have ever. I'm convinced the light saved our lives in the panhandle on the way out.

Correction: You're right, I went FROM the Firestik to the K40. We couldn't get the Firestik to calibrate properly. The K40 also performs better hitting branches than the Firestik.
