Well I will say that the new pcv valve has helped my gas mileage a little bit. Still have detonation and CEL came back on. Gonna take it to Auto zone and pull the code and make sure it's the same one. Bracket for my alternator is tight and belts are tight and aligned right. So I don't think that's the noise. It just sounds too much like detonation. So the o2 sensor will probably be next. Found it on Amazon for 45 dollars. Gotta wait 5 days for it though! Dammit!

Have you replaced your O2 sensor recently? I had the same issue, guy before me replaced it with a cheap sensor and it didn't read properly. I put an OEM in from the dealership and I haven't ran into an issue since.

Oh really? No I was going to order it this weekend. Now I really want to. Did it help your fuel mileage at all?

Well it probably would have if I didn't put the lift on. I think it gained about 4 mpg after replaced. I was getting like 140 miles a tank. Now I get closer to 200-235.

Oh nice. Yeah I was getting maybe 180 to the tank. After the PCV I got 220 for the first time in a long time! But I used to get close to 300 before the lift. Definitely going to order the o2 sensor. Tired of seeing the check engine light. Hoping that cures it!

I understand completely, I bought a scan gauge II as well which comes in handy for code reading/clearing.
 
Hopefully the O2 works for you...didn't for me unfortunately. Still searching for vacuum leaks. I'm having a warm start issue as well Isaac. But I'm getting around 200 miles a tank, not 100. Still, I would like to see 250 again.
 
I just ordered it yesterday. I should have it before next weekend. I will update then. If not I guess I probably need it anyway. But it would be great if it cured the problem!
 
Check fuel pressure. I had 31psi at the pump... No where near enough. Replaced the pump with a new unit and boom, 52psi and fires right up, and no codes, no cutting out, no issues.... Check your pressures.

Hmm. I might have to look into this. Because that's sorta what it feels like. I replaced the front o2 sensor over the weekend. Cleared the code and cleaned the maf one more time. No code yet. But we will see. How much did the pump run you? You go oem?
 
Figured I would update this thread in case anyone has this problem in the future. Didn't take long for the code to come back. So the front O2 didn't fix it. But oh well it needed replacing anyway. I replaced the MAF this weekend and the difference is ridiculous! My detonation is gone the little bit I drove it this weekend. Barely hitting the gas used to cause it. It's response is back and it is running like it used to. Even my wife(who is the daily driver) called me today and said it runs a lot better, is way more responsive, and it doesn't seem like it's struggling so much. Fingers crossed that the light stays off. After I run a full tank through it I will see if MPG is better. Just wanted to thank everyone for their 2 cents.

Which MAF did you get? Denso?
 
Do you have an update on your MAF replacement? Mine seems to be suffering thru the same issue. Just now starting to dig into it. I have replaced the A/F sensor and cleaned the MAF sensor but the CEL has returned.
