I have a loop I do that's about an hour from my house. I just did it last weekend with my son, while we broke in the front 3rd member in my Dad's Toyota. This weekend was beautiful and sunny, yet the previous weekend was snow packed and a blast, while this upcoming is more snow.
Putting this out here as I try to do this as much as possible to help my mental state. I prefer to go during the week, less traffic, but still enjoy the weekend chaos
I also love the start afternoon into the night runs also, but these are a little more dangerous.
If anyone is interested let me know. Usually leave the Salem, Oregon area between 7-9am for the day trips. Afternoon/Evening kinda depends but always flexible. It's a stretch but currently looking to go 18th/19th and again 24th/25th/26th again with my son. We like to spend time outdoors versus standing in a line for Black Friday.
If anyone is interested I'll post a link to the trail I do and everything for ease. The trail is gravel, major washouts and recommend at least mild lift. If it's snowing I've done it with my current rig, completed the trail yet other times been buried up to 4' so it's kinda hard to say. I keep an eye on it since it's beautiful and close.
Also I'll be going fairly often even with snow piling up. Lots of neat trails out in my backyard
