Folks,
I've been out of the 4runner game since last year when I blew my engine up (water in 2 cylinders) replaced the engine with donor, drove 2500 miles, then blew my transmission up (transfer case collar ate transmission output shaft, forgot to torque transfer to trans and low trans fluid). Nonetheless, my 4runner was sitting on its rear wheels for the past 2 months with the front jacked up, and a few days ago I finally got everything bolted back together, including new transmission, and it drives like new.
The issue I'm having is minor at the moment. Im getting a CEL with VSC OFF and VSC TRAC indicator lights.
The codes I'm reading are as follows:
C1201
C1224
As far as my research has taken me, the C1201 is a default dummy light when other C codes pop up.
The C1224 is what I cant figure out. It has to do with "ABS WITH EBD & BA & TRAC & VSC SYSTEM." Apparently my skid control ECU is not receiving a legitimate "NE SIGNAL."
I've torn pass the glove box to find all ECU related wires look good (had to remove them in the past to remove the broken engine).
I've moved over to the drivers side to ensure the skid control ECU wires also looked good (never had to deal with those).
During my engine swap and then transmission swap, I didn't directly mess with the "skid control" or ABS system. I wonder if this diagnostic code has something to do with letting the front wheels hang in mid air for so long, while possibly stretching wires and things out?
Please help, and thanks for the response!
BTW, I've searched, and I may have already come across what I'm looking for if only I could read russian!
