dice ipod integration upgrade from icelink

My icelink was always a little flaky. Most times I could "crank" the car and get it to reset. OVer the past few months it got worse to the point of no longer working at all. I called dice (previously dension or something) and arranged an upgrade ($50) to the new dice ipod integration. They included shipping, but forgot about my order the first time so I had to follow up a few weeks later and they overnighted it.

The new unit is a quantum leap forward. Checkout the users manual for the change in the users interface. The sound is stronger, and has controls over gain, treb, bass for your Aux input. It is simple to swap between aux-in and ipod. I run a nano, and the aux in is used by the sat radio.

It has (knock on wood) never failed to recognize. Artist name and track info are night and day improved for updating. The whole unit operates faster.

After 2 weeks I am extremely satisfied with the new dice unit. It should have been this way from the start!

I'm also curious about something. The dice page that its able to "Browse music by song, playlist, album and chapter" What about artist? Can you browse by Artist, then choose the album, then the song?

I have a peripheral electronics device and it works ok, but it does do that hanging thing that you mentioned from time to time. Also after turning off the vehicle for 20 min or longer, then ipod doesn't resume after it turns on. You have to go back to Browse - Artist - Album - Track, which is annoying as hell. I'd jump to the Dice if those things were cleared up: the browse by Artist method, less hanging, and the resume playback on power on. Any comments from other Dice users?

New unit is functioning great.

This time I installed it into the "upper" glove box...that way I can quickly swap it in/out if need be.

Only minor thing it seems to do now is jump to a particular playlist each time I restart. Not sure why, I updated my playlists and it seems ok now.

I also solved my sat radio alternator whine with a ground loop isolator, so life is good.

I don't think artist is an option. You can choose "1" to move songs, "2" to jump by playlist, "3" is by albums...etc.

the numbers are the "cd" you hu thinks you are accessing.
