DICE Media Bridge MB1500

Not quite the same unit, but I have an Media-Bridge installed with the E7008 nav in my 2008 4Runner. I have it located in my glove box. The MB doesn't work in mp3 mode, but works well in sat mode. The worst part of the unit is the cable that connects the mediabridge unit to the nav. The connector that couples the cable to the MB is a pain in the butt to remove and you're going to want to remove the MB unit periodically to update the firmware, etc...

Good luck.

How do you like it? Does it "lag"/slow to change songs with your ipod/iPhone??

The MB is not the be-all-end-all iPod interface, but it is good. The limitations might be more in the nav unit rather than the MB unit. The MB allows devices other than an iPod to play through the nav, which is nice. My wife's HTX Evo works well with the MB. So do USB memory sticks (no nested folders though - that sucks).

I have the MB unit setup in iPod mode (I think that's what it is called). In this mode I can change tunes and such directly from the iPod. Selecting tunes on the iPod is slower than when it isn't attached to the MB, but it still works well. Tunes plays at the correct speed and there is no discernible noise from the unit.

I upgraded to the MB unit from the previous version from DICE because the MB supported and charged the iPhone 4. I use an older classic 160 GB iPod to play tunes in the car, but I need to be able to charge my phone through the MB instead of in the AC outlet in the center console.

All-in-all the MB is a better unit than the previous iPod from Dice. I don't know if it is better than the iPod interface offered by Toyota or other vendors.
