Did All 2004-2005 Toyota 4Runner Limiteds Come With The Rear Air Suspension?

I plan on purchasing a 2004-2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited V6 or V8 but I was wondering if all Limited models came with the rear air suspension. Reason I ask is because I plan on lifting it 3" with 285/70/R17 Tires but unfortunately with the rear air suspensions its not possible.

I want all the bells and whistles of a Limited model but want to be able to lift it with little to no major modfications required.

I've looked at the Sport Edition 4Runners but are very hard to come by around my area. From what I've seen, they're fully loaded minus the power seats, and leather....am I correct or am I missing some other differences as well?

A must have for me is a sunroof...lol!

Any input would be greatly appreciated, I really have my heart set on a 4th gen. Steer me to the right direction.

No, they do not all have rear air suspension, and yes you can in fact lift one with the rear air, but you have to take the airbags out. Its not that big a deal, from what I understand

My SE doesn't have heated seats nor leather which IIRC the Limited comes with. You do get the hood scoop with the SE!!! :bigok: My absolute favorite part of my 4R. :biggrin2: I also don't have a sunroof. After my Range Rover, I was tired of dealing with leaks so I wasn't too keen on getting one. The SE also comes with 17" wheels. IIRC the Limiteds are 18". However, that might just be an option that people tend to get with Limited.

I have a Limited with 17's and no air suspension and am sure there are plenty out there.

When I was shopping a few months ago I found more without the air suspension than with. Also I don't think I've seen a SE around my area without a sunroof. Basically they're all minus leather and power seats like you said but have a scoop instead.

I just wanted to add a note about the sunroof. I've had my 96 for near 6 years, not one leak out of it yet so when I shopped for my '04 a sunroof was a requirement also. Other companies sunroofs may have had problems but I've always heard good things (regarding no leaks anyways) about Toyota sunroofs. I think there were a few early production 4th gens that rattled a bit but I know my 04 works perfect.

Rear air suspension is useless. I dont know if it affects a ride quality but being able to raise it up or down pretty much worthless

'05 limited here, no air suspension.

Side note: I had the sunroof break on a routine opening around 63k. I didn't want it in the first place because of all the headroom it robs both front and backseat passengers (I'm 6'3''). So now I have a sunroof that doesn't work. The worst of both worlds! :bash: At least I was able to get someone to get it closed after the stealership said they could not unless I replaced the whole thing for $3k. Drove to the very next garage and they closed it in 20min for $30. Florence Toyota in SC dropped the ball on that one and I wont forget it. Legal robbery is what they do for a living.
