I of course won't be paying $15K, but here is their response from some questions:

selling it to get 4 wheel drive moving North..

I bought the car on Ebay through a dealership in Houston a year ago. The car was in excellent condition when I got it. The guy that had it must of really babied it. I have all the paperwork of all the work that has been done in the history of the car. He was a salesman that is how the mileage is so high. I bought the car in Houston as I said last November. It is still a excellent car I promise you won't be disappointed. I personally only put about 12-15 thousand miles on it myself. I have had the car detailed 2 times. (buffed, waxed and shampooed) It is very shiny no noticeable scratches, garage kept.
I would not be selling it if it were not for us moving back North. It is rear wheel drive and I need a 4 wheel or front wheel drive car.
No, I have never off roaded in it. Im a mom of teenagers and I am the only driver of the car. I drive to and from work and take kids to practices.I don't even think I have taken it out of Texarkana
The only thing I have had to do is put on new tires, a battery and front brakes, air filter. That is it. The car is very sound and in perfect condition as I said. I have no problem with you taking it somewhere to be looked at. Im confident there is nothing wrong. iIalso have changed the oil every 3,000 miles I have all the paperwork on those. i will try to send pictures..give me a minute

Of course you have to take everything they say with a grain of salt, but the fact that she has paperwork to prove proper maintenance is always a plus with used cars.

Any other questions you guys think I should ask her, or look at when potentially checking out the car in person? I do plan on taking it to a mechanic, but if I can save myself a trip up there by asking some questions that would be good.

How much are you guys thinking for this one? She said $15K OBO

$15k for a 2004 seems high for me. I do not have any problems with the milage though. It sounds like a good condition car. If you don't need 4x4 and you are in love with it, get her to drop the price a couple of thousand and buy it.

Edmunds' TMV is about 14.7K, I think I might start negotiations at 13.5 or 14k

:iagree: It varies market to market so what "we" say needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Without knowing your market or seeing the vehicle in person I'd guess $13.2 is low number and $14.2 is the high number. That's just an uneducated IMHO statement.

How does the Carfax look on it? Where was it purchased and what cities/states was it titled?

FYI. I just completed my search across Texas for a good 4Runner and I don't think $15K is too far off. I was looking for a very specific package and color (my wife had to have galactic gray mica with the Sport Edition package and the spoiler) so that made it a bit more difficult to find a perfect deal. What I ended up with was a Toyota Certified '06 with 50K on the odometer for $17,500. Now I will admit that it had the dealer installed leather, was in excellent condition, and had impeccable service records all from one owner who actually purchased it from the same dealer. I think I ended up with a decent deal after searching and haggling with quite a few dealers. Some dealers would not even budge on their internet price and half of the other 4Runners I inquired about were already sold. Even during the recession, these things are not sitting around on the lots (in Texas at least).

You know, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this looks like a pretty good deal. Of course, start negotiations lower than the max you'd be willing to pay, and go for the "happy medium", if you will.

If the truck looks clean, if the price is right, if it stands up to a legit inspection, runs good, and you like you what you see - that's kinda all that truly matters.
