I bought it a couple weeks ago and was wondering if i got a pretty good deal or not. I think i did pretty good but wanted your opinions on what you paid vs. how much i paid. mine is a '06 4Runner sport 4wd v6, pretty much everything on it (sunroof included) with 30,000 miles for $22,000 out the door is what i financed.
Did i get a good deal for my 4Runner?

I think that's a pretty good deal you got. I was checking the value of my own 4Runner (2004 Sport Edition w/31,000 miles) and it came to about $20K on Kelly Blue Book for a private sale. So based upon those numbers, it seems like you got a decent deal.

I've been shopping around quite a bit for the same model and each dealer I've visited seems very reluctant to move on the price at all. One dealer has an 06 sport with 44k on the clock and they want nearly 25k for it-- though I'll admit it's incredibly clean, that's still quite pricey. Additionally, I found a 07 sport with 21k on the clock and it's listed for 23,999. Again, pricey but clean. Still, neither dealer has shown much interest in coming down in price.
Can't give up hope though, gotta keep fighting em for a good deal! :boxer:

I put two months into finding the Runner I wanted. I have had four and this was to be my 5th in 13 years. The model I wanted is VERY rare but they are out there-
---Sports Edition-V8 2X2-Triple Black. I looked every day religiously. Ebay, Craig's List. Cars.com etc.---
I live near LAX and was ready to get on a plane as I found a close match in New Mexico and one in FL.
One day I found the exact car I wanted-72K, clean car fax, leather. I got it for $12,100.00
This economy is tricky and some people are willing to take cold hard cash and discount from Blue Book. By the way, the V8 in 2WD with sports package is a blast!!
Keep hunting it will pay off. The sad part is I think I enjoyed the hunt almost as much as the catch.

Mines an 06 Sport 4wd with the V8 and I paid about the same as you did out the door. I was shopping around for about a month prior to buying the one i have and I feel that we both did pretty good. Others i was looking at were 23-25k, before tt&l, and the dealers were not budging on the price. Enjoy the 4runner! I know i am.

I would like to know what is happening to prices. I have been keeping an eye on the market (secretly wanting a second Sport Edition) and have noticed quite a jump lately. I cannot imagine that the upcoming winter season (here in the mid-atlantic - PA) is driving up the costs.
For example: local Toyota dealer has 2006 Sport Edition V8 40,000 miles - "No-Haggle" price of $26,999. Looks like a no-purchase price to me.

That is a pretty good deal based on what I have seen. I lucked out, but then again it is all timing as I always buy my cars around Christmas as the dealerships are dead and in the Northeast all they do is plow around them all winter.
I bought a 2006 Sport Edition V8 with 38k miles. It has replacement Goodyear TripleTread tires (not my favorite but about $220 each) with only 5k on them. I got it for $18,999. I found it at a Chevy dealer and I am convinced they must have looked up the price based on a SR5. I did even question the price but got them to give me about $750 more for my GMC Yukon trade than any local Toyota dealer.
Overall I am psyched about the vehicle and also how I acquired it. As everyone knows it pays to research and look around

I bought 2005 SR5 4x4 V8 (titanium metallic) with leather exactly a year ago for $17.5K plus TTL. Truck had 27K on it.

I am pretty sure it is related to winter. SUV prices normally go up this time of the year. But it also could be related that 5-gen of 4Runners is not what a lot of people wanted\ expected (no V8, no Torsen dif) and that could drive price of 4th gen up more than normal seasonal jump.

Whoah. I'm feeling really good about my deal now, bought a couple months ago, 06 SR5 V8, 42k, tip top shape (clean, clean, clean, new tires, brakes etc>) $20,750.

I traded my 06 Z71 in about a month ago and bought my 06 Sport Gray loaded w/ sunroof and 40k miles for $24,200 with the 100k bumper to bumper warranty. I am kicking myself now for not holding out for a 4x4 which is what I reallllly wanted. So I would say you got a good deal.
