hey guys, i am super new to this website. I dont even have my 4Runner yet. its still at the dealer and i pick it up Wednesday evening. Here is what i ordered:

04 Silver Sport V8 4x4
Sunroof
Homelink
Rear Spoiler
JBL 3/1 6 disc 10 spkr
DRL
Floor mats

I went through carsdirect.com to order my 4Runner and they found me a 4Runner at a dealer here in So Cal. I went to the dealer website and i saw the same car for MSRP $34,800. I got my 4Runner for $30,836. Do you think i got ripped off still despite the "$4,000" difference in price?

This site rox and im happy to be a part of your family!

Welcome to the board.

I really can't even remember what I paid for mine, but I think that is a good price.

Post some pics when you get it.

Thats a great price!

Mine is pretty much like yours minus the homelink/DRL/V8(i've got a v6) and I a few hundred dollars less than you. makes me want to go marching back to the dealer, but i'm happy.

Good Deal

Welcome to the board. Looks like you got a good deal, & picked the right forum: you gottit all going on!

My truck is almost identical - mine also has Double Decker & rear seat audio. To compare, I will need to know your DRIVEAWAY price - you may not know that yet....and I hope it does not come as a surprise. After you drive it away, post it.

Congratulations! And a great color too. GG - I see a Silver Sport
SUB-FORUM in the works! j/k

Base Invoice $30,799 includes $1788 in options
MSRP $34,799 includes $2324 in options

Both Include destination charge of $540

Looks like a fine deal at $30,836 if there were no rebates involved.

dang, posted the board, went to bed, woke up with tons of replies! thanks guys. yea the Toyota $750 rebate is already factored in.

I currently drive, can i say it, '98 FORD Explorer and i was apart of one of the most active message boards similar to this one. that damn website cost me soo much because everytime i logged in, i wanted to add more aftermarket parts to my X !!! i got bit by the aftermarket bug and it wasnt cheap! i hope this place doesn't cost me but i have a feeling it will!

:D

If that's your after tax / after rebates price, then it's a great deal!

OH YEA!!! TAXES i totally forgot!!! The final cost to me is just $33,598.40, but dood taxes are taxes, uncle sam gotta get his share. so thats my final total. i'm pretty content. i got a hefty cashiers check for $33,598.40 with no interest payments at all!

OK, in that case, I'd say you probably left no more than $1k on the table. IIRC, The Carsdirect price is about $450-$500 over invoice (before rebate). I was able to negotiate a deal $300 under invoice (before rebate) in the SoCal area back in February.

Your deal is OK. Most importantly, you got the options you wanted and didn't have to waste any time negotiating. Enjoy!

Driveaway Price

Huidaddy -

This is why I always implore folks to pursue a WRITTEN DRIVEAWAY PRICE! I mean, I'm not trying to diss your deal, but it went up $2,762.40, and it's not all sales tax!

Don't forget, we're dealing with CAR DEALERS here. These guys do this day in and day out, deal after deal. They're very good at it. We're the amateaurs - we only do it once every 4 years or so.

Until you have physically driven the vehicle off the lot, and they have your check, the deal's not over, & fees, charges, add-ons, and expenses just keep appearing. So there was alot more stuff they stuck in your deal.

A written driveaway is the only way to cut thru all the crap & know what the deal really is. Without it, the terms of the transaction never stop changing. They make alot of verbal promises, & concessions. None of us are smart enough to remember everything a dealer TELLS us [or omits].

I'm so glad I didn't have to worry about an haggling or dealer trying to screw me. How do you like me deal. $27826 for selling price and $28754.40 drive out price. I probably would have gotten your configuration for about the same price.
