First time 4runner owner!!did I get ripped?

I'm a first time 4runner owner, and first time poster/visitor to this forum. I wanted to hear from actual 4runner owners...

I just purchased a new 2008 SR5 4Runner, 4x4, V6 equipped with

sun roof
tow hitch
leather steering
anti-theft
roof rack
rear spoiler
6-disc am/fm
115V AC power point
daytime running

price paid: 27,500+TTL+$150 doc fee (includes $685 destination charge and $1200 toyota rebate)

The sticker was 33K but I know that doesn't mean much.

I tried to negotiate lower, but they wouldnt' budge. Did I get handled or what?

Edmunds says the invoice is $29,745 but this doesn't seem correct. I don't know.

Never be afraid to walk when talking to the dealer . They WILL call you back ?

I don't think you did bad , don't beat yourself up over it . Just enjoy the truck.

Good Long term buy. You'll start to feel better every year the 4runner performs for you.

As for the high prices of gas in the near to long term future, buy Visa stock when it goes public and make your 300% holding it.

Anyhow, if you make a killing the cost of a Toyota 4runner will be nominal. Your only regret might be that you didn't upgrade to a Sport.

I feel you did well. I bought my 2007 Sport 4WD with a trading on New Years eve and paid 35,999 OTD with a $250 gas card and lifetime driver train warranty on the truck. ;-) I was about 5 grand upside down on my 2005 VW Passat owning just a little more than $16000 and so I kind a had to eat a little. My truck stickered for about 39000 with all the dealer add-ons.

Saw OTD mentioned... IMO, it's irrevalent, because state and local taxes are different across the country as well as license and registration.

$27,500 is a good price. The more important thing is are you happy with the purchase. I will pay more for better service from the dealer and sales rep. Spending a half a day, numerous weekends, driving to tens, if not twenty dealers to save a few hundred bucks is not worth it (my cousin did that very thing for $200). More importantly, can't put a price on getting what I wanted rather than settling.
