Did my o2 sensor fix itself?

Assuming my code is the o2 sensor, the 3 dash lights that are on. check engine light + the VSC Trac + VSC OFF lights are on. I've checked the gas cap and it seems fine. Like others I disconnect the negative battery cable and the lights go off for a couple hundred miles usually. The lights have been on for 2 weeks now. Took my TR4 out last week and the lights are all the sudden off and have been ever since. Has this happened to anyone else, thoughts?

I put some Lucas gas treatment in my tank a year or two ago and after a few miles or so I got CEL. I don't remember the code but I read it with my ultra gauge and googled it. Pointed to a bad O2 sensor so I cleared the code and ordered a new one but the CEL never returned and I still haven't changed my O2 sensor.

Unless you know the actual code odds of guessing right on this are minimal.

It is possible you have marginal cat efficiency and for once you got lucky and passed. The next time the test completes you could fail. I'm sure there are other possible explanations. Next time read the codes. This is important information.

Why are you asking about a Triumph on a 4Runner board?

I have a CEL all winter long, goes away in the summer.

Best I can figure is because of the garbage gas we get during the winters. Every winter I'd have a CEL, crap mileage, springtime, back to normal.

I moved to Nevada for a year, no CEL. Great mileage.

Back to Ohio, CEL all winter, now that its spring, I'm back to 17-20MPG and no CEL.

I notice people asking about them here often.

My CEL would turn off randomly and come back after a week when my oxygen sensor was bad. The part is likely still bad. Read that code!
