Did Not Take Off Skid Plate ?

Local shop tech said he was able to get the oil filter out without taking the shield off. Is this even possible ??

V8 or V6? I think it is possible on both engines, but is just trickier with the V8, the V6 has the filter sitting right there in plain sight, the V8 has it down a ways and it takes some maneuvering to get it out, but it can be done as far as I know.

I hope he got to the filter. I guess I will make a mark on this one and watch for it at the next change.
