That pics kinda small so I can't really tell. I've never seen one with that kind of molding on the side (that I can think of), however I have seen plenty of cars with that kind of side molding, and typically there are holes in the body behind it for the plastic retaining clips that hold it on.
EDIT: An easy way to find out might be to pull the interior cover off one of the doors (i'm thinking a rear door might be easiest), and see if you can get a look into the door cavity to see if you can spot any retaining clips.
2ndEDIT: Have you simply thought about painting the trim? I kinda think having something on the doors looks nice because they're naked. If you don't want it black, you could have it painted using a plastic adhesion primer and then sprayed with paint/clear coat to match the color of the truck. I think color keyed side body molding would actually look really cool. Just some other thoughts.
ok,i like the looks alot more with them off.But i think i'll ask the body shop to paint them up for me when i get me rust fixed.hopefully something can be done about the pinstriping too.
