Did you add remote start / alarm ?

My wife added the Viper remote start / alarm to her RAV4 (I'll have to look up the model number) and while having her car serviced at the dealership, the guy at the service desk said they could have installed the Toyota one for probably just under what she paid to have installed

He's a lying scum bag. Don't listen to stealership BS. They use horribly designed units made in sweatshops and don't provide ANY warranty on them. They have no 2-way feature, and charge a ton on "labor" when all the wires are tagged from the factory and takes the minutes to install. AND, I've never seen one with a stater kill relay, therefor providing no security.

maybe that dealer uses an outside installer that has products that arent toyota that they use to satisfy a customer who may want something more than toyota offers????most of the time when this is the case that dealer will match a price and get u the same unit as long as the the install carries even a small profit.

i got the viper 5901 in my 5th gen with remote start. window modules dont work unless they modify the window motors. I paid 216+175 install here in so cal.

I added a compustar unit. Cost me $250 and install was free (me). Love the thing.
