Bought my 4runner. I usually keep all my vehicles (especially Toyotas and Hondas) for a long while and take really good care of them. I like driving them into the ground and get as much return on my investment as long as possible. Once you pay it off, at least you have something to keep. I still have my '91 Acura Integra, still going strong. I expect my 4runner will too.

paid for upfront. people shouldn't be leasing unless you're able to write it off for work purposes.

i'm saying that in a general sense and I know not everyone like to keep their cars nor be financially able to purchase/finance a car.

Purchased it...and drove it off the lot. owned baby! Got the pink slip already too. It's always greatknowing you don't have payments and/or having to keep mileage down. Never leased, but that always made me stray away from that.

Bought using Toyota 3-year, 0% financing.
All costs were in the loan, including tax / title. I had the cash but the $900 cash incentive didn't come close to the value of 0% financing of $28K over 3 years. Didn't pay a dime to drive it off the lot with the first payment beginning 2 months later -- I think kind of amazing.

I'm going to keep this great truck for 10 years or until someone clobbers me.

sometimes i look back, mostly because my accord was paid off. but used it as a down payment, so not too shabby..

and then i drive it, and the choice feels like it was made all over again..

now if it doesn't give me anymore problems, its a keeper..

Looks like there aren't to many that leased,but I did and glad I did. No money down for 36 months and I am out. Will get a new one then if I like ...gives me all the advantages,and I will probably do it again. This one has a seat problem which so far does't look like Toyota is willing to fix. could buy it if I like but so far won't.

Definitely leased.........this time, anyway. It is my 'weekend' vehicle and is primarily used for pleasure. I have a paid-off Sentra that I use as my commuter car, so I was better off in getting a 3-year/36,000 lease. My payments are about a third of what it would have cost me to finance it outright for total purchase. (At the end of the lease, I can buy it for 19k or walk away.)

IMHO, the 4Runner uses too much gas for me to drive it 20k a year (what I put on to go to work and during other errands). Speaking of gas, it went up 15 cents in one day. WTF????

We tend to drive our cars into the ground, so it wouldn't make sense to lease. Plus I put on over 40k miles in the first two years.

Paid cash for both my 03 4Runner and 06 GX470. Can't stand to pay someone interest or to have a limit on the number of miles I am able to drive. I traded the 03 4Runner in for 18200 with 40000 on it. Paid the rest in cash for the GX.

Good idea! If I were making more on my money in the bank than the rate Lexus was offering at the time, 6.25, I would have financed myself and kept making my average of 7+% in my account. However, with the two rates being so close, i figured the loss of the hassle of payments was worth the .75% I will lose in revenue over the life of the loan.

Bought. Being in Charlotte and with my family in Va and my wifes in FL we tend to put up some good miles on our cars and didn't want the mileage restriction.

Also we figured with the resell value as high as it is on 4Runners it would be better to buy instead of leasing. We plan on having it for a while and getting some good use out it. Thats why we chose Toyota of some other brands.
