Did you pay more? 3rd row thread!

Been looking for a 3rd row 4th gen for some time now and finally found one! But, I can only get them down to retail otd. I know the 3rd row option is hard to find, but should I keep looking or just pay? What did you guys pay? It is our color, trim package and it is at a local dealer, one owner and lots of services on the carfax! So the only drawback is the price.

07 sr5 118k running boards,roof rack. No other options, just like I want it!

05 sr5 v6 $!2160 in june 2012, 3rd row seats are pretty useless if you are more than 5ft tall.....good thing aboyt it is...its totally removable so i just remove them till whenever i know/feel i would them..the stuffs weighs upto 50lbs...saves me gas.. :)
 
In all the time I spent looking I never saw one with the 3rd row option. Like he said ^^^ you can only put people there that are 3 feet tall or less, and those age kids are the ones you usually want closer to you for various reasons, so it kind of makes the 3rd row a waste.
 
btw there are threads on t4r.org on how to add a third row for under $500

just go find the t4r that you want, negotiate that you really want one with 3rd row and that this one doesnt have it.

third row sucks like everyone else has said. 3rd row in my mother in laws rav4 is better than this one!
 
You guys are really making me second guess this! We test drove it on Saturday and put my 9 year old back there and he said he was good, we wouldn't use it all the time but occasionally it will be handy, we Lso have a 3 yr old and a 12yr old.How hard is it to install the 3rd row in non 3rd row runners? We had really been looking hard at Landcruisers but just like the size and mpg better of the 4runners. Decisions!

i was looking at cruisers too fj80's until i drove one. those feel like a 20 year old truck.

then moved to fj100's man talk about pricey trucks. 150k trucks still sell for $15k plus. ended up with my v8 03 for under $6000 with 164k

third row is better on those trucks but same v8 as in the t4r but 1500lbs heavier. obviosly, you know what iended up with. its been almost 6 months and i didnt find a need for the 3rd row yet.

I think if this is one of your primary vehicles, you'll try to use it more than you think. I did.
I have a 12 year old, 5 year old and 2 year old.

Have your 9 year old sit back there again and look to see how much leg room he has. I'm betting he's cramped. Of course he says he's good...right now. It's new and when you're 9 it's cool to sit in the far back.
It's not practical for car seats and it's a real pain trying to get them buckled in back there.
It's good when you are in a bind and you have to make it work, but it really isn't great.
 
I just recently took a friend and his family, wife and 3 kids on a short trip. One of the kids (11 year old) sat in the 3rd row seat and seemed pretty comfortable. Granted it doesn't have alot of room, but in times like these, I was glad I had this option available in my vehicle.

P.S I was just lucky to get the vehicle with the 3rd row seating, although I wasnt specifically looking for one.
 
I bought an 04 sr5 v6 with 117k miles and a third row november of last year for $9994. Knew nothing about how rare the third row is, just knew 4runners were solid trucks. good detailed carfax, wasnt thrilled with the driftwood pearl color but its grown on me.

As far as the third row, I'm not sure why everyone is so down on it. I dont use it often, but knowing that I can click the third row back in at anytime comes in handy. I once drove to 6 flags area (90 mins or so) for an overnighter with my friends and we had 8 of us in there (ages 22-24). Everyone threw their gear up top on the roof rack. Big guys up front, average people in the second row, smaller people in the back. It was fine. I wouldnt do it often, but its a servicable third row. Most of the time it is out because with it in, you have less than a foot deep cargo area. Put the back window down for some more space too. With kids I'm sure it'll be a blast when they can look out of the back with the window down, buckled up of course

I think people are talking bad about it because its something they don't have. When I was looking for a 4runner, I wanted one with a 3rd row just in case I needed it. I basically found ONE available in my state, and when I went to go buy it, it was already sold. So I had to settle for not having 3rd row. I might consider adding an aftermarket seat if we have another kid. Of course by that point, I might just sell the 4runner to get something bigger.

Thanks for all the input guys, we went ahead with the deal today and the t4r is now sitting in my garage!! It is immaculate, recent tires,all services up to date and only one PO. We will see how the 3rd row works out, there are definitely hard to find! Now, do i mod it or not? It rides and drives so good stock, time to start another thread!!!
