Didn't want to start today at the gas station

After filling up, the truck started and then immediately died. Tried again, same thing. Tried a third time and gave it some gas and she stayed running and made the 3 hour trip home without a hitch. Since I got the truck, I've noticed that the "catch" is really weak when I start it. It turns over fast, but when it finally starts, it just quietly catches and is running. If the kids are yelling in the back, I won't even notice that it has started. Is that normal on these trucks?

I'm curious what the issue may have been today, and whether it might be related to my weak starts. Already, she's got:

New battery
New plugs & wires
New PCV valve
VC gaskets
Spark plug tube seals
Intake gaskets
Cam and crank seals
timing belt
water pump
new air filter

And oil leak somewhere that I can't track down.

Like I said, the crank is fast and strong, but the catch is weak, and I'm thinking it might have been related to the no start today. No codes. Any ideas?

The catch on mine is weak too. Cranks fine but it sounds like it gives up but it's running. Does it moreso when the engine is warn

Mine does this every once in a while on a hot restart, often after fueling up. I've just learned to hold about half throttle while cranking and it always fires up.
 
I'm not sure exactly what the issue is, but it very specifically has something to do with filling up.

I went to the gas station on a cold engine. Filled it up. Didn't want to start. Held it half throttle and got it running.
Let it idle until it warmed up. Shut it off. Didn't want to start. Held it half throttle.
Drove across town about 5 miles so that I had actually used some of the gas. Turned it off. Started right up.
Drove 7 (We took the forest road route) hours home. Topped it off on a very hot engine. DIdn't want to start.

So it has nothing to do with the temperature and everything to do with filling it up. This is a recent problem and has never happened before. Is there some sort of vent or filter that might be getting clogged by filling all the way up?
 
Mine does this too. Most times i just leave it in "on" for a few seconds before giving it another start and it goes away.

Primarily when filling up.
